The Mondeo has gone. Long live the...

I don't have any issues with my 240bhp front wheel drive machine unless I seriously mash my foot which is obviously going to cause issues.

That was kind of what I was alluding to ;-)

Pick ours up tomorrow - looking forward to the drive back from Leeds :) Pics to follow!

Oh, and Demon Tweeks had an offer on the Bluefin + K&N panel filter for £340 over the weekend - so already have it sat in the garage waiting for the car to arrive :-) Going to sell the filter for £40 on ebay so the bluefin will have only cost £300.

Not sure if the factory tint is different somehow but I've found it fine with my other halfs Focus, it doesn't seem to reduce visibility for me at all and I don't recall her commenting on it being an issue, my sister on the other hand had her Discovery tinted by a third party and subsequently got it removed again because she couldn't see a thing when reversing.

Think the tint suits the Focus, I'm not sure about the Mondeo though tbh.

About 3 years ago I rented a Mk4 Mondeo Titanium X which had the rear tints. They were absolutely terrible and seriously restricted rear visibility especially in the dark. The rear seat passengers said it was like sitting in the dark.

It put me off tints completely.

Ditto - I went to see a car of the same spec/mileage and £300 cheaper but it had tints and both the wife and I agreed we didn't want a car with tints after we took it for a test drive.

Not a fan of tints myself either yes they look good from the outside but make parking a pain in poor conditions.

Having come from a mk1 focus i love all the mod cons, Sync is brilliant if a little laggy at times. Tidies up the dash really well, also love how the screen is part of the dash unlike most others where it pops up out of the top like an afterthought.

Indeed, I was considering tinting mine to factory spec, but when I realised the factory spec was limo-like, and looked pants on the black ones, I binned off that idea.

Have the tints on my Estate, they don't really cause me any issues and don't seem especially dark at night.

That's nice, that is. I really like Sea Grey. What engine?

Whats it like do you notice much difference. I'm not fussed about tyres really but the DMF life would.

I noticed quite a big difference when I Bluefin'd mine. Gave an extra 40bhp and lb-ft. It shouldn't wear anything out that much sooner if you're mechanically sympathetic, i.e. you don't just floor it constantly at low engine speeds.

Same as yours - 2ltr ecoboost

There is quite a bit of difference. Theres obviously quite a bit more power but it's not just at the top end, low down grunt and mid range is improved as well. I don't see why it would significantly affect the DMF life.

how much is the bluefin putting your insurance up? when i checked with my insurer for one on my old Focus ST they wanted an extra £100 ontop of my £900 policy.

Hi,

After a bit of advice please.

Selling my Focus ST225 due to a growing family and can't decide between the 2010 mondeo titanium x sport 2.0 ecoboost (200bhp) or the 2.2 tdci (173bhp).

I am doing around 400 miles a week and I know everyone will say the diesel, but if there is not a massive difference in MPG I would prefer the petrol as I have never owned a diesel and worried a will lose the performance.

What sort of MPG is everyone getting. All the miles are mainly motorway miles between 70-80 mph.

Thanks.

Can I just say that I hate all you guys who have variants of the Mondeo 2l ecoboost, powershift Titanium.

Looking around for one, in reasonable nick, probably, a facelift and they are like hens' teeth.

If anyone wants to sell let me know.

Also this is probably the most informative discussion about the model on the internet and it's on Overclockers!! Go figure.

Let me know if you hear of anything coming up...will happily pay a finders fee. Lol

They absolutely are - even more so if you want the nav and memory seats.

I was going to look for an estate version for me as a 5th car, but I think I've settled on a Ford Ranger now - Wildtrack ofc.
