Nissan leaf correct decision?

Like a pioneer of the old ages OP!

Without you breaking down every 75miles, constantly worrying about using the heaters for too long and hanging around service stations for 30mins between charges we will never get to match the petrol equivalent in years to come!

I will tell my grand kids of your accomplishments!

Well nearly 7000 miles later nothing has gone wrong with the car ( it did have a dodgy speaker from new warranty replaced it)
Charging at work £30 a year, i can tell the car to heat up from my phone so no clearing windows in the cold mornings and it will do 75 miles with the heater on. The new ones are much better in this regard. Long trips we just take another vehicle.
The 0-30 time of 3 seconds achievable very easily is great for milton keynes.
I would like it to look better have a better range and more adjustment on the steering reach, but happy so far.

Must be great not spending any money on fuel. Well, £60 for 7000 miles or whatever it is.

At 30 mpg you've saved around 1,000 litres of fuel.

Not setting the bar very high if the audio system in the TT is your reference point tbh :p
Not quite sure what you mean, the bose system in the TT was a good setup. It was quite common for TT onwers to retrofit the bose system into non bose cars, so it can't have been that bad to warrant the effort and expense.

saw this and thought it was interesting, not sure how secure it is.

They are known to be hackable and bluetooth is pretty in-secure to begin with, but the chances of someone actually doing it are pretty slim. Especially on something like a Leaf which isn't exactly a big target for car thieves.

Modern cars being less secure by design doesn't help either though. You can hack most of them and start them up with a laptop via the OBD2 port. That's how most are being stolen these days. It's actually a big problem for Ford ST/RSs at the moment as Ford has done FA to address the issue unlike some other manufacturers.

I sure hope the Bose system is better than the stock one, which must be horrific.

Bose in the TT is a muddy mess, with ill defined highs and everything seems to be squashed into the midrange, i can only assume the shape of the car doesn't help the situation.

Bose always sound muddy, they are over-rated :/

The JBL speakers in my GT86 sound a lot clearer than the Bose ones ever did in the A3 I had.

Have just leased a leaf as a second car (24kw version, 2 year lease, was about £149 a month or so). It will be used for town journeys only, as we get free parking and charging with it here. Haven't bothered with the home charger installation as there is a charging point just down the road.

That sounds cheap! How much did you have to put down? Is there a mileage cap?

I pay £150 a month no deposit but the 30Kw tekna ( top of the range) is available for £211 with one month deposit from Nissan Birmingham 10,000 miles a year.

6,000 miles PA though. Can't imagine that would be enough for most people. Anyone with that kind of mileage doesn't worry about fuel costs.
