if this is his 3rd offence and we;re putting all the blame on his mental illness (whcih clearly inst the case as her was sentenced tio prison so the judge did not think his mental illness was the cause) why isnt he being sectioned?

Do you lack the ability to understand posts or something? I was quite clearly pointing out his schizophrenia (not mentioned by Breitbart) was more likely the contributory factor here, than any anti-muslim stance the right-wing press would like to have you believe.

Because people don't get sectioned now unless it can be proven that they are an immediate threat to society. By the time a trial takes place you tend to find schizophrenics are getting the treatment required.

It's a suspended prison sentence.

no his racism was most likley the contributory factor. (not sure why you banging on about islam as the article doesnt say he was muslim at all, or do you just assume he is?)

A race-hate attacker who spat in a nine-month-old baby’s face and said “white people shouldn’t breed” has avoided jail, despite his attack being totally unprovoked.
Hairdresser Rebecca Telford, 25, was walking her baby, Layla-Jean, in South Shields last January when she was approached by Rezzas Abdulla, 33, Newcastle Crown Court heard.

Prosecutor Emma Dowling told the court: “He leant into the pushchair and spat into the face of her daughter.

“As he did so, he shouted or said “white people shouldn’t breed”.”

Telford confronted Abdulla but he simply told her to “shut the **** up” and walked off, leaving her stunned, the Daily Mail has reported. She tried to take a picture but was too shocked.

Miss Dowling told the court that Abdulla’s spit was “sprayed around” Layla-Jean’s face, and that her mother had to be handed a tissue by a passer-by to wipe it off.

Abdulla, who has two previous race-hate convictions for attacks on white women, was later tracked down through CCTV.

In a victim impact statement, Ms Telford told the police: “I am completely disgusted and distressed that a grown man, regardless of race or religion, would spit on a defenceless baby in a completely unprovoked attack.

“If he had just walked by I would not have even noticed him, there was no eye contact and no words had been exchanged. I had never seen him before. I believe he spat on her purely because we are white, I was a lone female and an easy target.”

Layla-Jean had to be taken to the doctors for tests following the incident, to ascertain whether she was at risk of infection.

Following the attack Abdulla was treated for a psychiatric condition in hospital, later receiving ongoing treatment after being released.

Consequently, he was sentenced to eight months’ imprisonment for the attack, suspended for 18 months, with rehabilitation and mental health treatment requirements.

The judge in the case told Abdulla that he had “a problem, it seems to me, with white women”, but he added that Abdulla’s deteriorating mental health “contributed” toward the offence, and said “society in general” would be better served by Abdulla continuing to receive treatment.

Speaking after the court case, Ms Telford said: “South Shields is really multicultural, and I have never witnessed anything like this before, between any races.

“It was horrifying. I am glad he has been brought to justice, but I think he has got off lightly.

“I am not racist at all but I honestly think if it was the other way round and I had been abusive towards him, then I would have been treated differently.

“Layla-Jean was just nine months old. She did not have a clue what was going on, but she was still distressed.”

She added: “I phoned the doctor and I was told that Layla-Jean might need to have a BCG injection, in case she had contracted TB.

“Normally kids don’t get vaccinated until they are much older, and it would have been a lot for her to go through.

“Luckily, it wasn’t necessary in the end, but it put me through a lot of worry and stress.

“I wasn’t sure if the police would take what had happened seriously, because it wasn’t physically violent, but they were fantastic, and managed to catch him within a few days.”

News just in: Shocker as some people across all areas of society are either mentally unstable or just plain horrid (or both)

Honestly, one person does not a whole race of people make. Take people at face value, not be pre-judging them based on skin colour.

Saying that, there are also some generalisations across cultures which can be judged (the general attitude of many different cultures towards women for example), it's just having the mental capability to work through that a society as a whole is not represented in exactly the same way by every person who identifies as being part of that society.

I'm part of the society that allowed the BNP to rise to existence, I do not, in any way associate with the BNP, in fact I actively discourage their behaviour. Does this mean that when someone from the BNP commits some hateful act anybody looking into the society I associate with should automatically assume I hold the same beliefs? No, of course not.

Just to add, this person's punishment should have been harsher. Not jail time though, I don't want this person to spend time in jail for the tax payer to subsidise. He isn't an immediate threat to society, he's just horrible... the trick is to make sure he actually is just horrible...

His name is abdullah, arabic Abd Allāh meaning servant of allah.

But no you are right this doesn't prove he was actually Muslim right now, but it does mean it was part of his life such as parents, and it doesn't mean he wouldn't ever be victim to any racism or muslim hate

Well that depends. If he self identifies as a Muslim (We do not know at this time) then yes he may well feel victimised as an oppressed minority in the UK. However if he self identifies as anything else then no. His actions are clearly racist and seemingly aimed at white people but I haven't read anything about any religious motivation yet.
 
That guy who put a bacon sandwich outside a mosque got a year. A YEAR in prison for that. He also died in prison as far as i'm aware...

Some guy spits in babys face in obviouslly racially motivated attack. Nothing happens?

People can wonder all they want why the right is growing in support. (I consider myself left). The double standards at work are becomming very clear.

I just wan't to say I'm not ignoring the fact that hes racist, but I just want to recognise the fact that this guy is also suffering.

I mean he's clearly got paranoid delusions if he's going to spit at a baby, unprovoked.

That's not even relevant, even if she was anti-muslim she didn't do anything to provoke such an attack, let alone the baby :(. The offender had predisposed ideas most likely the result of paranoid delusion.

It doesn't even matter if she was anti-muslim, because the fact is she didn't do anything. He can't have some sort of telepathic ability to sense people out to get him when they're just walking with a baby. That's why it's called schizophrenia.
