Ridge tile has blown off my house and landed on the back of my Megane rs250. I'm gutted. It landed on the corner of light, boot lid and passenger rear quarter.

Car body shop in town told me it would be about 400+ vat to repair but I worry about colour matches etc.

I could puke.

I ain't claiming on car insurance due to excess and increased premium. House insurance also doesn't cover the car damage.

Serves me right for laughing off this storm.

 I was worried about this earlier and was going to move my car. Then I got worried about something else hitting it after I had moved it and would have kicked myself if that happened.

Pics?

Any insurance will no doubt come up with 'act of god' and not pay up anyway.

Sorry to hear this, I fear it about my DC5 when I get home later.

Two of the neighbours bins got blown over into the drivers door of my RR this morning causing some scratches. She knocked on to let me know. Tried to make them less obvious but came at a bad time as I'm selling it! Bins have been flying up and down the street all day.

I'll get a photo at some point. My phone lens is knackered and doesn't take good pics.

It landed in such an annoying place. It's as if it landed flat over 4 corners.

The light replacement will be £50 which isnt so tragic but then the rear windscreen is scratched (lucky this didn't smash I guess) which will frustrate me.

The rear left quarter is damaged above the light and then the boot is damaged to the side of the light.

Its down to bare metal in places so I guess I'll have to sand it back a bit and use a touch up pen until I can fund a respray of the panels.

I have two cars. One a crappy mondeo worth about a grand. Then this megane which *was* worth about 11!. So annoying.

Sell the Mondeo to pay for the damage?

The mondeo is my commuting motor unfortunately!. The week started with our washing machine breaking and then this happens.

Obviously it's cosmetic and I spose I'm lucky it didn't land on anyone's head. However it ruins my pride and joy :(

I'd just bought new pads and discs to fit on it too.

Might be cheaper to get the dents knocked out by a PDR specialist first (depending on how bad it is), then look at getting it painted/touched up. The rear side quarters are always mega expensive at a bodyshop since you can't take them off on modern cars. They will want to do welding, filling, etc :/

I had a series of dents on that panel on my Fiesta ST. Bodyshop wanted £350 to strip the paint, weld something to it and pull the dents, then re-spray. Local dent repair guy did it for £80 within an hour and you couldn't tell it had been done. No painting involved.

But yea, the wind is pretty bad. My back garden looked like someone threw a grenade in to it when I got home from work :p

Literally been worried about this weather all day

At work we have floodlights in the secure car park and they were swaying like no body's business right above my car

Then at the gym there was a blown over tree in the car park and twigs everywhere

Hopefully we don't see weather like that again for a while...
