id like a powerful machine but i dont want to listen to the fans whine all the time, is there anything out there that's powerful (6700+) able to play games on medium setting around £1500 and quiet, pref 17" screen

thankyou for any and all help

damn it, i knew it was wishful thinking :(

edit, if there is no "quiet" gaming laptop, which ones would be considered the quietest....

I've got an AW13 OLED with 7700hq/gtx 1060. After repaste with LM and moderate undervolt the fans hardly ever spin and can play most games at high+.

Yes.

It's a bit more of an involved question.

My AORUS is quiet with the fans set at 35% (I can game on the sofa with headphones on while the Doris watches TV) gaming at 90fps in bf1/fc4/fc primal.

I thought I saw a watercooler laptop a bit ago.

This thing?

This outside of most people's budget :D

Are these laptops able to run without the fan running during general light use - a bit of web browsing, that sort of thing?

A lot of them I would say yes. Especially if you are able to use switchable graphics to the onboard gpu such as intel HD530 or whatever. Will depend to some extent on the surface you are using it though. Eg on lap may obscure intake fans and outlet vents etc.

My m14x r2 is quiet when browsing and not intrusive in any way even with fans spinning at low speed. I suspect a lot of the current laptops will be the same. Gaming ofc is another story.

My MSI GS60 is quiet while on the web / general use - any form ofvgaming though and the thing sounds like a 747, haha. I guess thats the price you pay for ultra thin laptops.
