Gamer dies attempting 24hr live stream

I can't imagine gaming for 24 hours would kill him. He's a smoker so chances are he's not overly healthy. Maybe blood clot from sitting for so long?

Pretty sure this has happened a fair few times over the years. There have been a few in internet cafes haven't there?

Lirik a large twitch streamer discussed this on stream. Said apparently he drank / smoked heavily. Also did a number of long streams back to back.

There were a lot of other factors that go beyond a 24hour stream.
 
happened to a banking intern couple of years ago - stress and sleep deprivation + lack of time to exercise, rest etc.. can quite literally be a lethal combination:

Few days ago I started watching some guy on Twitch, he was playing Animal Crossing to 100% speedrun. Apparently he wasn't taking breaks to sleep. The previous video of his would suggest he did that for 38 hours :o
 
This phenomenon reminds me of the whole scenario of footballers dying paying football.

You just don't associate football with a dangerous sport, until suddenly they go in to cardiac arrest.

Same thing with this!
 
I'd guess that it is quite hazardous if you do it a lot (like almost as a lifestyle) ironically rather than one off every now and again - I'm generally fairly active and the odd 24 hour gaming session (usually MMO type stuff related) hasn't been a problem at all.

I'd love to see the blood pressure of these gamers. In between them downing Red Bull and Monster Energy. Besides, how can anyone do these crazy stints? After 2 - 3 hours gaming I get bored. I have to do something else and walk away. Or even be done for the night.
