well the one I bought a couple of months ago has packed up, so I'm after something decent this time round. No £20 russell hobs rubbish.

I know there's a few ocukers who seem to find decent stuff.

any ideas?

Thanks!

85 quid to boil water :|

Think my dad still has one he bought from Tesco about 10 years ago that cost like 15 quid that still boils water.

My variable temp kettle has been a must for coffee and the occasional Lemsip or tea on the go. Currently have a Cuisinart which has been very good for the past couple of years, if I were to choose a new kettle, I would make sure it doesn't have a light on all time, such an unnecessary feature.

^ Shame it's only 2.3 kW. Get 3kW unless you like waiting all day :p

I've a ~£20 Russell Hobbs and it's working fine and seems pretty solid. I was going to get a Bosch one which was double the price then spotted it was now made in China so is likely of the same standard as a cheap one anyway.

I got that one in Grey but then I only paid £10 for it about 6 months ago from Amazon Warehouse. Water goes in cold and comes out hot, not sure what more I want it to do.

We have a Kenwood stainless at work and must have been boiled well over 4000 times and works perfectly. Cost like £25 or thereabouts... I fail to see how a £70 kettle does more than this, unless you want it for aesthetics or possibly temperature controlled kettle which I appreciate is required for some that are into specialist teas etc.
