Can anyone help? My friend is after a system for around £400 and wants to be able to play CS:GO at 1920x1080 in high settings with a constant FPS over 100 and League of Legends too.

Is this achieveable for £400? I've been out of the speccing game for years so not sure what is hot and what isnt and what kind of specs are needed to run the games.

Any help massively appreciated.

Absolutely, G4560 + cheapest mobo + 8 gb ram + cheapeast case + a decent 400w PSU and based on what's left the GPU (460/1050 or used). D O N E!

Something like this maybe? £402 or £408 total if you chose a gold rated supersflower 350 or 450w psu.

Couldnt see you getting much in the way of a 2c/4t processor from skylake to keep within budget and 2400mhz ram in dual 4gb is cheaper, but wasn't sure if the board supported faster speeds to save a few quid and a kaylake setup cost a little bit more to get a 2c/4t cpu the rx460 should be plenty and is getting cheaper in Some cases.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £395.95
(includes shipping: £11.10)

Or going haswell likely save you some money and likely more option for the 2c/4t processors, I know my haswell i3 is brilliant, but my system was originally pre-built(not how it is now, but at the start) and cost more than your budget.

dude wait for AMD ryzens full range to drops, intel are currently doing price drops etc. Bad time to pull trigfger

Not worth waiting on Ryzen for a build like this, its cheap enough already for a PC that will do what the OP wants and memory prices are still on the rise and will still be rising after Ryzen 3 and 5 are here. So waiting for a possible price drop on an already low cost CPU vs the 100% fact that Ram and HDDs are going up in price, really isnt worth it.
