Best gpu for mass effect andromeda @1080p

Thank you for all the input. I think if I can sell my card for a decent sum then the extra 100 for a 480 would be worth it. Shane there is not a bf1 or mirrors edge demo I could try to test the performance

I have a 780Ti and no way would I upgrade to a 480 from it. Sidegrade at best IMO.

Personally, only a 980Ti or better would be an upgrade for me, especially at 1080P.

I still find the (oc'd) 780Ti a great card at 1080P.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I have no intention to move from gaming @1080p anytime soon so paying extra for anything above a 480/1060 has no value to me. From my point of view spending an extra 100 quid gets me more vram, higher frame rates a and a new 3yr warranty.

I can't see myself buying a 780ti equivilant again as I have far more important things to spend my monies on these days now I've got kids.

Edit!!

If I was the OP I would have ditched that GTX780TI last year and got a GTX1060 or RX480,as I suspect it would have been a cheaper upgrade due to the higher secondhand value of the GTX780TI.

In fact even in 2015,you probably could have upgraded from a GTX780TI to a GTX970 for free.

Can I borrow this time machine of yours and ill go back to 2013 and I wouldn't buy it in the first place!!

Standard 780 at 1110 core nets you 75 fps average on bf1 but this is at 1920x1200 res on my pc 3570k stock if thats any help.

I had one,it vanished in the mists of time!!:p

Its more the case, especially with expensive cards like the GTX780TI it is not worth holding onto them, since the performance is often replicated in cheaper cards within 12 to 24 months, and hence it is worth keeping a watch on what is happening and you can often upgrade to a new generation card with better performance for not much money if you sell it at the right time.

Interestingly enough budget graphics cards seem to hold onto their value much better - look at how much the GTX750TI still goes for.

Looks like my 780ti might be ok in the end.

I would save up a bit more money and not hurry to change until the game hits and then hopefully AMD will have done something to shake up the market/prices or the 1070 will be more affordable or something.

I'd be inclined to sit it out too, The 780ti's already lost most of it's value and it'll be of more value to you now, to not sell it so you can delay a purchase until around June or July. That way you can see AMD's Vega cards and at least have an idea of Nvidia's response, be it a refresh range or price cuts.

Personally i'd wait and see, 780ti values will drop but so will 480x prices. Depending how vega and the TI preform/priced you might well pick up something nicer 2nd hand in time for ME if new card prices havent changed by then

Whilst there are some good suggestions mentioned. The game isn't out yet, know one actually knows. Wait for the game to release and if your 780ti isn't playing it up to your standard then check the benchmarks for the game online and buy accordingly.

I would be a little surprised if you 780ti isn't running it at 60fps on high with a few bells and whistles lowered

The minimum requirements are the same as recommended requirements?

Yes I noticed it, not sure where fireisdangerous got it from but I checked on origin site that got correct system requirements:

Mass Effect: Andromeda has same GPUs requirements as Battlefield 1 so stock GTX 780 Ti will see similar performance as GTX 970 and RX 470 or OC GTX 780 Ti have similar performance as GTX 980 or RX 480.

I clearly copied same spec by accident doh!

Think I might just get this on my Xbox then wait for all the dlc and new GPU's to come out then play it on PC later this year. Considering I played through ME2 about 20 times!

Get a PS4 Pro if possible it's awesome for 1080P, it has a downclocked RX480 and the PS4 version will probably be far better optimised. It also opens up a bunch of PS4 exclusives. PC versions these days seem to be too much of an afterthought.

Sold my ps4 to get my xbox a couple of months back. Hadn't thought about the pro though but i could spend 200 quid and get a full 480 for my pc rather than 350 on another console. Maybe if they released a mass effect themed ps4 pro.
