I love how the article is written, it makes Hollande look like a wet rag (which tbh he is).

This really does not happen often, or at least i certainly never hear of security details failing so massively like this.

I wonder if this will do anything to help the opposition/Le Pen?
 
The article I read suggested the French marksman on a roof, slipped while repositioning, a shot was discharged as his safety was off, and it went through the roof of a tent, through a waiters leg and into a workers foot.
No suggestion he shot himself.
Which version is more accurate?
 
In the UK if the police shoot someone it's treated as an offence until it's proven it was lawful (if they kill someone it's murder initially).

This guy will be in a lot of trouble if France has the same rules. It was an accident, but it's career ending stuff. Especially as someone got injured.
 
unbelievable - I guess he'll soon be having a very uncomfortable meeting without coffee and no doubt involving rather a lot of shouting

pretty stupid of him... no trigger discipline, safety not on... WTF was he thinking
