* MASSIVE NVIDIA GTX 1080 PRICE DROP & 1070 DEALS TOO! *

Agreed, gets very expensive now to step up. That said my 1070 runs 1440p very well but was still not cheap. The cost of a faster GPU is definitely holding me back from going 4K. Monitor plus new GPU would have to be a £1000+ upgrade. A bit too much for me to justify personally as it's not my main hobby.

Competition from Vega may help, that'd be good for everyone :)

I don't believe we're ready for 4k yet, we need proper monitors not this 60 hz crap. I'd prefer 144hz and over and decent size as well not 27 inches.

@Gibbo any plans on the 1060 range for price droppage ?

Nope!
NVIDIA are only supporting 1080 FE, 1080 AIC and 1070 FE.

1070 AIC, 1060 and 1050 have no drop, any good prices there is simply down to good deals being done like our MSI 1070 QuickSilver is £430-£460 elsewhere, yet on OcUK its £379 :)

Why must you tempt me so! However if I purchase a 1080 or 1070 then i'll need to shell out extra £££ for a g-sync monitor and the missus will not be happy with me.

We dont have anythign that can power 4k screens at 144hz anyway. We are probably 2 or 3 years away which by then the screens will be out. Rise of the tomb raider can make my 2.1Ghz TitanX drop to 30fps.

yup, which is why I'll stay quite happily at 1440p with my 1080 until such days become reality :)

Sadly as already mentioned these look so close to pre-brexit prices that I wouldn't jump. Not OCuk fault but the UK needs to sort out it's currency value. There is nothing wrong with the economy but there's a lot wrong with how the currency is being valued.

As my better half just said - it's a price drop that really only benefits America and other currencies that were not as badly affected as the UK.

Consumers in the UK just need to stop buying stuff from the US at the moment to force the companies to recognise they may need to reduce their product prices in the UK.

In typical british fashion myself included is we'll moan about it but still buy it.

Lost all faith in that happening at the moment, few weeks ago there was a glimmer of hope when the pound manage to stabilise above 1.25, still miles from the 1.45-1.55 range it hovered in pre-brexit, but now its back under 1.25 again seems it can't get past it, opened today at 1.22 and ended at 1.23.

Not good times! If we had a 1.50 rate these cards would be around £420 now, big shame! :(

Very true indeed. It'll be nigh on 3 years from the vote before anything at all will change in the slightest, yet the currency drops within hours in some sort of knee jerk reaction meaning we get 3 years of over inflated prices before we even leave! Bloody ridiculous
