Hi,

My little sister is going to uni this year and we're chipping in to get her a nice laptop. Realistically it'll only be used for web browsing and office. Only requirements are:

  • Stylish as possible thin etc
  • At least 256gb SSD
  • 13" or around that size she doesn't want it to be too big and bulky
  • Prefer if it came with some sort of MS Office on it even if it's Office 365 one year subscription

I haven't done much research but i'm thinking to go for a Asus Zenbook and if so which one? And what else are my alternatives. Budget is around £800 give or take so I imagine we'll be able to get her something really nice for that considering power is not paramount.

Dell xps 15 (outlet) £700?
Acer Swift 3
Xiaomi Air 13

I've been looking and Zenbook is close, but a little more money than these listed, nice though.

No idea on Office subs with those, cheaper though!

I wouldn't stress too much about office being on there already If she's off to uni then she'll be eligible for the student licensed version of office which offers a big saving over the normal version. I'm fairly sure you can buy the download online, otherwise OcUk will get it out to you pretty quickly.

ASUS ZenBook UX330UA Laptop is ~£850
i5, 8Gb RAM, 256Gb SSD, 13.3" its thin and looks cool. Like Jimbo said once she is set up with a uni e-mail she should be able to get office with a hefty discount.
