Cheap setup for 1080 sli, just for sound, not heavy OC

Cheapest and easiest would probably be the 'Hybrid EVGA 1070/1080 FTW Water Cooling Kit' for £130 each if they are compatible.

Custom loop would cost around £300-500+.

How much is watercooling you mean? That's the only way you will remove the noise of the fans. £300 wouldn't be possible unless you only did the GPU's (leaving the CPU out the loop), but even that's tight tbh.
 
the main issue is the cost of the gfx card waterblocks, there expensive and really u can only bet on them working with that card... so resale value goes down real fast :/

but you might be able to get second hand cpu block, rads and pump to reduce the cost
 
If you didn't get the GPUs yet I'm sure in a few weeks plenty of very new second hand ones will be around... some with the blocks no doubt (like mine probably).
