taking the kids for a week away in april.
got some cheap flights so just need a place to stay.

never been before so looking for some recommendations as too what areas are decent please.

return flights from liverpool in school holidays £28.99 each.
its not all clubbing over there and that only starts in june.

Perfectly fine for children.

Of course places like Playa D'en Bossa and San Antonio are more the party areas but there are hundreds of places on the island which are beautiful and very relaxing places to be, the North side in particular Portinatx.

Don't be fooled though the clubbing season starts from early May over there not June but I wouldnt let that put you off. Some areas I would recommend that aren't the party party places would be Cala Llonga (and anywhere up the coast from there so Santa Eulalia, Es Canar, Cala San Vincent), Portintax and Santa Agnes and Sant Miguel. There will be a lot of child friendly hotels and resorts in Cala Llonga/Santa Eulalia area.

Ibiza Town is worth a shout too but there will be more nightlife there but the town itself is beautiful and again, perfectly fine for children, and to be honest San Antonio itself isn't that bad if you stay out of the West End mainly. Have seen plenty of families with kids on the front where Mambo's and Cafe Del Mar is.

A lot of it closed out of season and expensive by comparison to other places as its both Englishy and in half term. I just thought if you were after a family holiday, what you save on flights you gain in things to do or save locally depending on what you are after.

Things will be open in April (probably mostly from Mid April onwards) as thats when all the wannabe workers etc start to flock to the island to find jobs etc. I wouldn't worry about nothing being open really.

We went to Club San Miguel with our then 6 month old in July 2015. Very nice area if a little out the way. Family friendly. Lots of young kids there in and around the pool. The beach a minute walk away is amazing, so nice and in July it was really warm. Great to swim in. Fair few hotels around San Miguel, all look nice. The one we went to looks a little dated but was very clean and very friendly. I would go there again but we went with a last minute deal, full price adds a good extra ontop. Cost us £900 for one week all inclusive in the middle of July. You could be looking at £1200-£1400 now.

Edit: It was port San Miguel. San Miguel is a few miles inland. You can get buses to San An and Ibiza town. They run every few hours iirc. Going back in June for 4 days just me and the wife. Staying in San antonio. Purely to go to a few clubs and enjoy the nightlife somewhat.

I went to San Antonio in June before, that's probably the latest you would want to go with kids..... stayed right next to the big egg on the roundabout! What a place!

To be fair, we had a night in San An with little one in '15. Went to the sunset strip, banging music and lots of people. families, couples, and clubbers. All having a good time. The main promenade in San an was packed all restaurants heaving, Loads of people milling around not a are in the world, all having fun and relaxing. This was late into the night/evening. It certainly has changed a lot since I last went in 2001. Soooo can't wait to go again in June.

I would avoid San Antonio and Playa Den Bossa. Not good environments for children IMO.

North of the island is supposed to be quieter and nice for families.

The party scene in San An / Playa D'en Bossa doesn't kick off till May at the very earliest, they are both nice areas when all the party people aren't there. Ibiza town is very nice also with Dalt Vila. Isn't too far from the airport either. The main family areas of Ibiza though tend to be places like Es Cana, Santa Eularia Portinatx and San Miquel. I cannot tell you anything about these areas though as i've only been to San An / Playa D'en Bossa and Ibiza town really.

Never been, but its an island in the med, so plenty to explore and see, no doubt.... Just rent a jeep and go explore !
