Why don't Origin just quit. It's so bad. always needs reinstalling etc. Battlefield is a nightmare because of it.

Steam is so much better.

Rant over.

1/10 DON'T USE ORIGIN

Never had one single issue with Origin and despite EA's faults their online customer service via chat is absolutely superb, yes the games are over priced but nobody is forcing anyone to pay those prices.
Valve's customer service on the other hand is abhorrent, unfit for purpose and Valve should be held to account for the total garbage they present as customer support.

Only have minor issues such as not being able to see others online, usually fixed by a restart of the app though.

You must be lucky then.

Mine just doesn't open sometimes & I have to reinstall it - even then sometimes it fails to install.

Windows 10? some people have had issues with the program launching on 10 not sure if there is a solution.

Otherwise sounds a bit like memory - RAM or maybe failing HDD - issues to me.

I never had any issues with Origin with Win7,8,10 etc..I'm on there everyday more or less with Win10.

I have Steam,Glyph,Arc,Origin,GOG Galaxy,Uplay all installed on 10 working fine.

Ditto, no issues with the platform yet (apart from some weird regional behaviour on Access) but by and large does what it says on the tin, which is play EA exclusives.

Some people have had an issue with Origin and Windows 10 where the program launches but never shows the Origin UI - the task goes into the background like a service - seems to be graphic driver related in some way from what I've seen so far.

To be fair I have seen this sort of thing happen since XP days, there are always people with issues like these and it is not exclusive to 10 only.

Kind of thing happens sure - but there are a small group reporting it on 10 which don't seem to be seeing it on 7 or 8 with Origin.

Like these ones a few years ago on Win7 which took me only two seconds to search?...https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/2b89E/i-cant-open-origin-solved , http://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Origin-won-t-open-at-all-Windows-7/td-p/3927285 .

Could be anything from drivers to Origin program itself or something else like AV etc...

I'm talking about recent issues that might be affecting the OP - you seem to be entirely missing the point of my posts and/or reading some kind of agenda in them that isn't intended - in what way are old issues on Windows 7 in any way relevant to what might be affecting the OP today?

Did I touch a nerve there?... Fact is you blame Win10 in nearly all your posts I've seen and there is no proof it is Win10 end of the day, try not being anti-10 and offer some constructive comments like possible malware on PC, corrupted Origin, errors with HD etc, software conflict.

Quite the reverse - you are getting all bothered about my post being anti Windows 10 by the looks of it when nothing of the sort was intended on my part - I merely pointed out that with recent updates to Origin some people have reported an issue that effects a small number of Windows 10 users (and hasn't been reported, in this particular occurrence of it, at this point on other OSes) - which might have been applicable to the OP if they were running Windows 10.

Any anti-Windows 10 sentiment to my post is entirely an invention on your part.

Again as I stated these kind of issues have happened over the years with Origin on Win7,8,10 so it is not 10 specific, hard part is finding the cause and it can be many things like I have stated.

I have even seen AV/firewall conflicts with Origin over the years with weird issues. Personally I'll be very surprised if it is 10, my money is on something else.

A lot of people will report issues especially using latest OS which happens to be with 10 at the moment, does not mean it is the OS causing the issue. I had a bug issue with a game on 10 a few weeks ago, cause was not Win10 but a driver issue(previous driver was fine).

I'm NOT saying problems of that nature are 10 specific I said there has been a RECENT issue like that which in this case IS 10 specific - hence being a recent issue it might be applicable to what the OP is encountering right NOW.
