Really striggling with temptation of moving to a 980ti (used) would cost me £100-150 to do. I should either wait for vega or buy a 980ti at a low price. Only a 980ti or 1080 or 1080ti will fit my requirements but cost of a 1080 is too significant to justify. I think im getting carried away due to two games mot supporting cf.

You're not getting carried away just scunered with CrossFire which is in the same boat as Sli-support sucks, for your target of up to £150 go for it and don't look back.

Ive had crossfire since a 7950 so im not sure what normal feels like. Really will i be that much happier?

980Ti is a great card for 1440p/60Hz gaming. I doubt you would have any trouble selling should you want to move to Vega later on.

Yes you will be that much happier just launching a title and playing it.

I've had Sli twice in the early days, 6950>7950>290X all CrossFire setups-patience broke when mgpu support went downhill as newer game engines make it harder to support.

I moved from a 7990 to a 980Ti Seahawk and couldn't have been happier.

Didn't give me a huge increase in power, if any. But it just runs smoother, no support issues, more efficient.

Will never go back to mGPU.

Went from a 295x2 to a Hybrid 980Ti and was a lot happier to not rely on profiles for new releases. GTA5 was a lot smoother too.

Confirmed now moving to a 980ti hybrid. Can still use my ghetto mod of radiator mounted on rear of case. Game smoother and reckon i wont loose a penny on the price ive just paid for quite a while. Wondering if i should do a full resinstall (i hate a reinstall)before it arrives or just a drivers wipe.

I meant os, usually a gpu comes at a time when i need a reinstall anyway. Right now i dont feel ready for a reinstall so id rather not do it. Thanks for confirming i don't need to! Haven't moved teams in a while so worth its good information, thanks!

I'd just do an uninstall of AMD drivers immediately before you remove it from the system>swap GPU, power up into windows and install latest Nv driver, if you have problems then start thinking about DDU/clean OS.
