DPF - Cleaning? Anyone had it done?

How dare I darken the doors of OcUK Motors with a question on dag-dag DPF filters! But unfortunately it's a necessary evil and I'm looking for some info on cleaning the annoying little gits.

Has anyone had their DPF 'cleaned' by one of these third party mobs who advertise on teh intraweb? Any success stories? Also, ours is a Peugeot 4007 with the excellent 2.2 HDi PSA 156bhp dag-dag. Quite punchy for an oil burner and it has a DPF and Eolys fluid injection system on it. Eolys additive lowers the natural particle combustion temperature to 450 °C to aid regeneration so to me it doesn't sound like it's actually a 'cleaning' agent, rather it assists regeneration to burn the soot off more efficiently. To that end, I see there are DPF cleaning kits available online which you can apparently use to clean the DPF by spraying it into the hole where the pressure/temperature sensor lives. No idea what it is supposed to do though. Anyone any info?

Not in the slightest bit interested in removing or gutting the DPF, the 2.2 HDi is notoriously difficult to get this done correctly on without issues manifesting later with warning lights and ECU problems.

Ta.

Good point. Not having any issues, mpg and performance is still excellent. It's going through a regen slightly more often now though.

Yeah, my driving is a mix of all types of journeys, distance wise. Although I try and limit short hops in it as its acknowledged that this isn't good for diesels with DPF's. DPF regens kick in as and when the electronics decide it is required, doesn't always happen on long journeys.

I need every x miles but it won't do a proper regen on short stop start journeys. The engine needs to be the right temp and running at a certain rev.

If you do a mix you should be okay. You hear "horror" stories of people complaining about the dpf but they have only used their car to go to and from the shop.
