I'm really interested in this laptop http://www.dell.com/uk/p/inspiron-15-7567-laptop/pd?ref=PD_OC (especially now with an additional 10% off) but have read a lot of bad reviews regarding the screen.

I spoke to a sales rep from Dell via live chat and he told me there are no issues with the screen in UK. I'm not sure if I believe him so I was wondering if anybody in the UK has bought this laptop and if so, what is the screen like?

Thanks.

I haven't seen one but also looking at it and also worried about the screen. Some people saying it looks worse than laptops from years ago. Not sure whether that's something I could put up with or not but it seems a bit inexcusable in this day and age.

Unfortunately it doesn't seem like any gaming laptops have decent screens under £1100, which is a real shame, but I guess corners have to be cut somewhere.

Which screen variant are you looking into with this model? They offer the choice between the FHD matte & 4K / UHD glossy panel.

Presuming you're looking at the FHD matte version for instance, going by the notebookcheck review of this model the FHD matte screen on the European models is a TN panel. Therefore the colours may not be as vibrant as the UHD / 4K panel. The latter & more expensive UHD / 4K model is an IPS screen.

Speaking from having previously owned a Dell Inspiron 15 7559 which I believe is the predecessor to this 7567 model, the screen even though it was IPS didn't really set the world on fire from what I remember. It originally came with a low end LG panel to which I later upgraded to a better one which made the colours stand out better and it was also noticeably brighter too. I also briefly owned the Dell XPS 9550 last year which had the UHD / 4K IPS screen and it was leagues better - so much more brighter and the colours really stood out well.

It's quite underwhelming I must admit, I got the laptop at a decent price and couldn't justify the 4k screen price. What are you doing on the laptop? I find it decent enough for basic photo editing, web browsing and so forth.

Thanks. I'll be using it mainly for playing games like Football Manager and Motorsport Manager and also web browsing and a bit of watching videos. However, it will be connected to my external monitor so the games will be there and the web browsing/video watching will be on the laptop monitor.

Other than the screen, how have you found the laptop?

Well I play FM and watch quite a few films on it and it's more than suitable. I'm happy with it, it's a pretty hefty spec, 16gb RAM, i7 and it does everything I need it to do. I only play FM game wise so never really pushed it far I must admit! Battery is good and it's a nice keyboard/touchpad.

I'm wondering if the 4k screen is better quality but can't find much info. There are some refurb models with it, but they have the 960M not the 1050 :(

So I picked up a 7566 from the Outlet for £550. The screen is about as bad as any laptop LCD I've ever seen. Think poor viewing angles and washed out colours. Disappointing but for £550 I can't really complain. The screen can apparently be replaced for around £70 DIY.

I'm still on the stock factory screen. I think about replacing it, but I'm not sure it's worth it since it's not my main machine.
