T-Shirts that don't suck?

I was looking at starting a t-shirt business and found that most 100% cotton t-shirts tend to shrink no matter what, the best t-shirt I found was I think a Gildan Premium, but anything that is 100% ringspun preshrunk cotton will suit your needs.

This Gildans premium in large for a 6 footer like me about 13 stone and medium for the ultra ones. 2.50 a shirt so doesn't matter if u go through a few a year, note some of the colours fit differently. But I find all the large ones shrink to fit me well after a couple of washes mediums in the ultra cotton in greys are fine too some of the coloured ones can shrink too much for my liking though

Cotton shrinks over time. I wash most of my gear with no heat. There is still some shrinkage.

Best bet is to find a style of t-shirt you like from American Apparel, Fruit of the loom, Hanes, etc.. and just have your own designs printed.

I had a Fruit of the loom t-shirt that lasted about 15 years iirc. It wasn't the last word in satorial elegence but then neither am I.

Fruit of the loom is now owned by someone else and it's all made in Asia now. before it was a quality brand made in the West. It's not the same thing anymore yet people somehow still associate it's name with quality of the past.

mike Ashley done the same thing by buying up dead brand names then moving production to Asia and selling them for cheap but he was making them for pennies. he's now a billionaire because of this model.

I've always been in to fashion and clothes so have sampled the whole spectrum when it comes to t shirts from designer to high street. The most consistent and best fit has actually been the H&M t-shirts for £3.99. They have pretty much every colour you could want and the t shirts retain there fit wash after wash. I highly recommend. American Apparel also do good quality t shirts.

This has got to be a joke h&m should be renamed 'one wash' their tees seem to shrink on first wash without fail from my experience regardless of how they're washed.

Im tall and slim same as op and found reiss tshirts to be good at not shrinking.

Saltrock are good quality and hold up pretty well...
No they don't. Mine've shrunk. Or I got fatter. I probably got fatter.

Good value though. Buy one sale, then get emails about even more %off.

Do these have the really short sleeves common on t-shirts these days or are they a bit longer? I could do with some cheap work t-shirts, but want the sleeve to be just above my forearm.

I buy mine from amazon - bulk of 5 Gildan heavy cotton ones, love them. Plain color which is annoying but haven't found any that are long enough with prints. being tall has its down sides with shirt lengths alas...

Sunspel T-shirts are great and UK made (I think). They are expensive but can often be had in their sales for a "relatively" reasonable price. They do last and fit well.

Uniqlo, thank me later :p

You should also spec a budget as you can spend whatever you want on a basic T. Uniqlo are good for the money (£9.90) though.
2nd this but haven't tried their t shirts yet. However their socks and boxers are spot on quality wise.

I'm 6'6" so trust me when I say, this is a problem for me too. I have found two brands of T shirt that work, but the best are Gap stretch Ts. They only do three colours though. Black, white and grey.

It's odd that you call out fat face as some of the bad ones as they are some of the best lasting I've owned.

Jack wills can be a bit hit and miss, I've got a plain white t shirt from there which has shrunk a little bit, and a plain black one that's stayed perfect. Superdry is just terrible if it doesn't shrink it'll fade. Some with holister and Abercrombie.

Honestly came in this thread to recommend fat face but looks like you don't need that one :p

Having tried dozens of different brands and having to wash them a lot due to work, I've settled on Dickies WS436. Much like every t shirt they shrink over time, but they've been washed at 40oC and tumble dried on high with all the babies washing and they still fit well enough after 100 washes.

Same as you I need a longer t shirt, and they do taller versions of each size which are a God send.

6 foot 5 here and fortunately dont have this problem. You do seem to get what you pay for though and most of my T-shirts are £30+ so that could be the issue. I bought a T shirt from Next last year fro the first time ever and it shrank first wash so I wont be buying from them again.
