Been in a friends at the weekend, not the sports version, but lots of room, decent boot and the airplay/car play was impressive.
Also for that price I think its very good value. Economy seems good also.
0-60 looks very impressive

What's your requirement from a car OP? Do u need a 5 door hatchback etc?
Even though it's a good car i couldn't imagine dropping 13k on an Astra that's going to drop massively in value.
They can be had all day long on lease for 120p/m

I ran two of these for about 5 months each. Both were diesels, but the 1.4T 150 petrol is an excellent engine, and the one that I would recommend to most people (or the 1.0T of those not needing the power).

They are great to drive; they feel so agile and nimble.

I think you would enjoy it.

P.s. it was European Car of the Year last year. :)

p.s. you wont get that engine or spec for £120 per month!

Smartlease have the exact same 1.4T 150bhp at the minute for 1.3k+vat down then £131 per month. Before Christmas that could be had for the same down payment but £120 p/m I know because a friend was going to get one.
Obviously I wasn't including the deposit but what I was getting at is I wouldn't blow 13k on a used Astra when I could leave it in the bank and get a brand new one for a tiny amount per month and then return it without the hassle of re selling in a few years time.

Looked at the 1t but I do a bit of motorway driving on a38 and m5 didn't want a car that revs high and uses more fuel maybe I should test drive one of those as well on a second note I use an iPhone so can connect to apple car is it even worth going for satnav version and does it bring anything extra than using apple maps ?

The screen is 1" bigger on the sat nav version. Other than that not much difference I think.

Test drove the car today what a big difference compared to the old model they did have an elite version leather seats front and rear parking had another 3000 miles on the clock at an aacitional 1000 pounds 13800 decided to go with the original as do t really care for the extra,s do u think the add 1000 was worth taking ?

I would have paid for the Elite model, looking at the spec it's got a lot of extras not just leather seats and parking sensors. Main ones for me would climate control, front & rear heated seats, folding mirrors and an electronic park brake. All those for 1k seems like good value.

Heated steering wheel too, which was pretty damn great on the rental Mokka I had the other week (shame about the rest of the car).

It's not totally cut and dried. The Elite actually loses a couple of things which are standard on the Elite - sports switch and the front camera system (auto braking, traffic sign recognition etc).

Parking sensors are not standard so if the Elite had them then they would have been an option ticked from order.

I'd probably have gone for the Elite, but it's not my money! :)

Definitely go for the elite
That's some spec never thought of Vauxhall to include some options like that before
