Mates BMW M3 stolen

Bugger that, if someone wants my car (not that they would) and they can find out which house it belongs to (it isn't immediately obvious) and then get in, I'd rather they just took the keys from the side table in the lounge, and preferably without wrecking the rest of the house in the process. I don't want my girlfriend to be scared for her life.

Usually high value cars are stolen from peoples' houses by multiple violent, experienced criminals than by the sort of coked-up vagrant type who might entertain a bit of casual B&E and who would be easier to fight off.

Exactly, screw trying to stop them. If they want it they can have it

Granted they won't get far without turning off valet mode as that's set to limit the car to 30mph, 3500rpm and 70% maximum throttle position before it kills fuel.

Put on a Stoplock/disklock and you won't have your car stolen. Simple as that really.
lol have you seen the length armed gangs in London go to when stealing high end cars? they will just come in your house and beat you until they recieve the keys without a care in the world who hears them.
A friend of my dads had his brand new XF stolen by a gang in broad daylight with hoods up on a busy street who casually knocked on his door and then proceeded to barge in with weapons in hand took his keys and casually all climbed in the car and drove off despite the fact he was screaming for help and there was people about.
And a guy who was in the news a while back with a new AMG Merc who had numerous security cameras and 3 metal bollards at the end of the path blocking it in had his car stolen and then the same gang came back 3 more times to try and take his replacement car.

It's probably in a Small Heath garage getting taken apart piece by piece at this very moment :(

Hope your buddy finds the car OP. Total scum that go out to steal somebody's pride and joy :( On the subject of defending property i'm now of the opinion that you just let them have it, I used to say I would stand and fight if it happened to me and then one day it did, 3 guys jumped me at midday just around the corner from Tottenham Hale station as I was getting out of my car. True to my word I stood my ground and it didn't end well, although they ended up taking nothing, I ended up in A&E getting a stab wound stitched up.

I have my keys next to the bed. If they want them, they can walk up the [very] creaky, dark staircase and be stabbed at the top :D
This. My staircase is so loud you can hear it in the adjoining house :p It's hard enough trying to get upstairs without waking the SO and I know which stairs to skip!

It amazes me, sadly, that for the sake of £20, people don't put those Trax GPS trackers hidden in their cars. Especially when it's something nice

No one would get into my bedroom without waking me (due to measures taken to stop the door banging in the draft) - and with the hardware in my room they'll have definitely picked the wrong target :O these mechanical keyboards don't half have some weight to them.

£20, where?

There were UK deals a while ago. I bought two. It's fun to check your car is still where you parked it when your 130 miles away from it. The BMW remote will only relay the car if it's within 2km (IIRC). It's an app software limitation which other 3rd part apps have cracked, but not always with success, so rather than paying BMW for their tracker, I bought these.

I'd like to say boxing stance from me but I've not been in the situation yet. I'm sure id fold faster than my old lady doing the ironing.

We've had a few trucks stolen over the last few years but that's just the local ******, no idea if there are any local gangs or if they come down from brum. I don't know if living on a farm makes it better or worse.

On one hand less people to look out for you, on the other, no one can hear their screams if you catch them

Are those trackers meant to be any good?

Shame. Nice car.

I don't own anything particularly expensive. But even if i did they would be welcome to it. No way I'd risk my safety or the safety of my family over a car.

Im confused, how would this be of any use unless there are other trackrs very close nearby connected to a phone to ping the network.

I just use an old phone with a switched live power feed hidden behind the glove box with the trakr app. Works a treat, although to be fair, I could just user Cerberus or something like that (find my phone) and not buy the Trackr....

That sucks OP.

The minute someone goes near our front door, day or night, our 4 German Shepard's let me know. The male GSD, Murphy is 65KG of teeth and muscle, he's a lovely boy but very protective and we hired a police dog trainer to train them with us. For example they won't eat anything given to them by strangers, only food my partner or I give them.

They would certainly act as a deterrent, wake me up, and give the mrs time to call the police.

That said, I don't own anything desirable enough!
