Hi all, I currently have an amd Radeon 295x2 running a triple monitor setup which I mainly use for iracing running at 7680x1440@144 with most of the high details on with no issues at all. So my question is simple, will a Nvidia 1080 do the same job? I know it has 3 display ports which I need but does it have the power to run same configuration.

Get a 1080Ti for a real upgrade ;) On a serious note, a 1080 will give similar performance to a 295x2 scaling normally. On games that don't scale well, the 1080 will be significantly better.

I went from a 295x2 to a Hybrid 980Ti and it did not feel like a real downgrade, mainly because I got much smoother solid performance in new releases and good minimums.

Either get the GTX1080Ti or wait for the Vega to see what it brings on the table.
GTX1080 isn't an upgrade to the 295X2.

I think the op is aware the 1080 is not an upgrade on the 295x2. The real question was, can it offer the same performance.

How does Nvidia handle multi-screen gaming?
I remember reading that one of the two does not do it as well as the other but it was a long time ago and does it ring true today?
Personally if I was having such a good time with AMD crossfire I'd wait for Vega, that way the set up and fine tuning will all be familiar and if the 295 did it well that means Vega will do it very well.
Plus the install should be a case of pull one out and plug one in mostly.

When is Vega due out and will it require less power than the 295x2?
It will be out in the first half of this year, so some time in June at the latest. It will definitely require less power than a 295x2. Rumour is 225w or something like that. 295x2 is like 500w from what I recall.
