Obviously most of you young'ns will not know who Vera Lynn was but here is a brief history of this singer that did so much during the second world war to lift the spirits of not just our soldiers but the nation itself.

Happy birthday Dame Vera! Shame the poor weather prevented the planned Spitfire flyover the white cliffs, but then it wouldn't be the UK without poor weather :)
