4G EE charging me for something i didn't subscribe to

All of the phone companies are dicks, love how people cry and moan, leave in a stomp and end up getting the same service at one of the others.

I've had some very bad experiences with EE support, I ended up having to record calls (I notified them of this) and sent to their department heads to get things done.

Try and get what they say in writing, or record your calls. Don't trust their "We'll add a note to your account" because the next person you speak to will not see this "note"

Its not really to do with EE. If you allow premium charges, then they wont block it. The money goes to whichever company is scamming you rather than EE. You can request EE block premium charges and that will block any in the future but by default on most contracts, premium charges are opt out.

If you want to get the money back then you must contact the company and request proof of your agreeing to the subscription. Sometime in autumn last year a law was passed which required companies to prove you opted into a subscription via some sort of form fill out. If they prove you never filled the form out, then they must refund you. If you cannot reach an agreement, you may take it to OFCOM

Really, your gripe should be with this third party company and only really with EE if you have specifically put a stop to premium charges in the past.

I've had bother with something similar, they can put a bar on these things. I had a bar added but it failed, it wasnt till I asked to cancel the contract that they said they can put a propper bar on them.

I was told the companies who do the charging change company names regularly so they are hard to track down. Scum mate.

QFT.

As has been said your gripe appears to be more with the third party company rather than EE. But I would say I have had a lot better results contacting EE support via Twitter rather than over the phone.

Thought i'd provide an update, well yesterday i got a paypal refund from a company called "payguru" of 2.98 which i presume to be them. Looks to be a turkish scammer company, ill make sure im opted out from premium services in the future.

looks like there are more people who are falling victim to this as well on the EE forums
