I'm pretty sure they have been preparing for something like this for years! As far as I can tell the police and emergency services were excellent and have almost certainly saved lives today.

I think the point is despite the intention this scumbag hasn't achieved anything. The intention was to spread fear and hate, and there's no logical reason for people to allow themselves to be made more hateful and fearful.

None of that is to belittle the sacrifice made by the police officer or the sadness of the losses.
 
Very sad news today shocked he actually got into the grounds of houses of parliament everytime I have gone past there police guarding look tooled up to the teeth.

I thought something might happen on Westminster bridge some day it so open and thousands of tourists and people cross this bridge anyone can easily mount the pavement. :(

BBC news reporting that the policeman stabbed was one of the gate guards ,

"the car stopped and the `thick set man in black` was on the policeman in moments"

Yes, I'm referring to using CCTV as evidence after the attack in reply to the other poster, not using it to prevent attacks which obviously doesn't make sense.

Anyway, there doesn't seem to be much information about the attacker other than not being the guy they thought it was...

Seriously, what are you envisaging happening? Do you think people are watching every camera 24/7? Do you want an orbital ion cannon to vaporise offenders instantaneously?

You must be on a wind up,

it was a quick attack and he was dealt with, no way to stop something like this apart from how they did stop it, someone watching cctv in realtime would have been able to do anything.

Agreed. These magical cameras could've at least spawned a few cops in a Sherman to dispatch of the guy. I mean, four whole minutes before the guy was shot, what the hell? Should've been done in 10 seconds flat what with all the CCTV in the area.
