Shots fired outside parliament - Please refrain from speculative and antagonistic posts

Funny that how back in 1993 when the IRA detonated a truck bomb in London. We didn't ban Irish or Catholics, we just thought what a bunch of idiots.

And don't give me the BS that their aims weren't religious, they were to an extent but the same with these Islamic terrorists as well...it's both religious and political.

The IRA usually (though not always) phoned in threats before detonating bombs directed at civilian targets - they originally had a loose concept of a war taking the fight to police and military, etc. though as we all know it didn't often work out like that. While Islamic terrorists will target anyone with no warning. Point being they had a bit of a different perspective in people's minds back then compared to Islamic terrorists today.

Think the Internet might play a part. Quite easy nowadays to get a congregation of like minded people together on a forum spouting extremes in either direction anonymously.

People probably did think similarly back then. Just kept it to themselves.
 
So in a decade we have:

Deaths caused by Islamic Extremists = 5
Deaths caused by mentally ill people = 870

I think if we really care about saving lives and making our streets safer we need to be investing more time and money on the latter, this is just common sense!

The question is what is the return on the funding - it could be that the investment in combatting terrorism is preventing 100000s of deaths while those caused by mentally ill would always be in the 100s.
 
My point is chucking more money and resources at combating terrorism is ridiculous considering the extremely low death rate, the money would be better spent trying to reduce the horrific death toll of 870!
And the fact certain people are being hysterical about the threat of terrorism on UK soil yet seem deadly silent about the threat of mentally ill people who pose a threat to homicide hundreds of times greater than that of Islamic extremists.

77 in just one incident? Anders Brevik? We could start adding up individual attacks, such as Thomas Mair. Interestingly, it's only the far right that have actually killed an MP.

Be pretty hard to ban both, very ingrained into the fabric, Islam much bigger threat, take each problem as it comes. Also remember it's only people making the decisions at the top, they do not have super powers, they can make mistakes, they can't predict into the future. So much is directed toward a small nuimber of people to solve their problems. Blame TB if anyone.

Or it could be argued spending millions on a defending against a few terrorists and cutting back spending on the mentally ill costs more lives overall. Who knows. The Government will.
 
Knew the suspect was a male. When we will be able to deport all males and send them back where they came from. Of course with the ridiculously wishy washy PC liberal media no one wants to state the obvious that males cause a real terrorist problem and we wont be safe until we can control are border to stop to males. Why is there no travel ban on males?

You dont even need to do that. Keep it simple. All the terrorists I have seen are male, bald and have a beard. Kick them all out of the country and dont let anybody in who is bald and has a beard. Problem solved overnight.

2 Islamic terrorism incidents in the US had female shooters (one being San Bernardino) - though the main person was a male - also attacks in the part of the world where the Westgate mall shootings happened it is suspected a high involvement of a certain woman behind them.
