Just installed my new 1080 after taking out my 1070 and the fans are constantly spinning full chat. Even when not under any load. Any ideas? I've updated the Bios to F2 and re-installed the Nvidia drivers but to no avail. My 1070 hardly made any noise at all.

Have you got MSI Afterburner isntalled? Shows you what speed your fans are at and allows you to manually adjust them. Even better than that you can create your own fan curve.
For example set fans to 0% upto 50 degrees and then allow fans to gradually rise to what ever you consider max fan speed for noise/cooling capability.
