EVGA GTX1080 Classified

I'd never pay £600 for a 1080 even a water cooled one is rather get the FE Ti run a stock which is quiet still and will still out perform the 1080. Most id pay is £400

It depends on if you really need ti performance or not, if you don't then there is no reason to "waste" extra money and then something like the 1080 Classified would be a good purchase :)

I was going to go down the ti route as I had the cash laying around but then settled for a 1080 Waterforce (at a very nice price tbh, not here) as it was more than powerful enough for the games I play and now I can throw the change into the Icelake pot in 2019 ;)

I have one. I would not bother at that price nor would I wait for classified ti version. You really need to have them under water as well.

Personally I am going with the stock evga 1080ti fe and a d.i.y install of an evga hybred cooler on it. Should be a hybred water kit out for the titan/ 1080ti soon but the older hybreds work fine on it now.

Watercooling blocks were really limited this time round, you had to go with an older ek block as they have stopped making them for the classified. Evga's p.c.b changes with the added thermal sensors would I suspect ensure no older blocks will fit and who knows if evga will bring one out.

On air its not worth the extra outlay and with a block you have to source pads etc separatly, screws as well if you want to re-use the back plate as none are available. Lot of extra work with no gain as the 1080ti is out.

I don't see the point in waiting, a well cooled card with pascal is the way to go I think. You can do that with a 1080ti now.

A 1080 Classified is a bad choice as it no faster than a bargain basement 1080 when both are overclocked.:)

Is this card worth getting at the the current price of just over £600 or should i wait and get the Ti version when its released.

If I were you I would place a pre-order for a FTW3.0 next week.

Unlike some of the above posters I actually think the 1080 Classified was probably one of the best engineered cards I have ever handled. I think the card is probably worth about £480 and not a penny more. If you can get one for approx that amount of money then I would buy one.

Its the best card I have had. Limit is with pascal rather than Evga's engineering. Its never going to be the sensible budget option and is always going to command a premium. With the 1080ti the premium does not look very attractive. Its not the card its the situation it now finds itself in.
