So as above really, started a discussion at work as some people feel they are safer with 2 hands on. I personally just use one hand and find it perfectly acceptable. Im intrigued to know the split on here.

Either one hand at 3 o'clock if I'm just "going along" or both hands at 9 and 3 if I'm steering/negotiating bends/roundabouts/whatever.

Commuting, one hand typically, unless it's a particularly sharp corner/junction and involves more rotation than a single hand can provide.

Pressing on/Driving for fun, both hands, both for the extra control/feel and because I'll be using paddle shift.

See im still old school with manual. For me if im motorwaying it ill have a hand abour 5 oclock (works well as i rest my arm on the door, if im on somethinking a bit more twisty ill have it at 3 oclock. Dare i ask if the more skilled drivers only need 1 hand or is that asking for trouble:D.

One hand, here. Drop back to two for roundabouts or corners in built up areas, but that's only for the 5 second period of turning the car.

im using one handed when pootling around (3 oclock position) , however when on it , im obviously both hands on the wheel 3/9 position

Depends...are we talking motorway cruising, town driving (lots of gear changes), or sliding the back end around on rainy days? :D

Seat reclined back, left arm stretched out with a full grip at 12 o'clock, window open with right arm resting on it blasting out some banging beats.

Do you drive a Corsa? :p

One hand at 2 o'clock of driving around normally, if I am driving hard, both hands at 10 and another at 2.
