Does anyone have a good working knowledge on the subject of PSN acounts and being in another country? I'm going to be in Canada from UK for 6 months and will be taking my PS4. I'm guessing that I will be able to log in with my UK account, as normal, but how will it work with regards to the store and downloading games that I have in my library? I'm not overly bothered about purchasing from the store whilst I am there but want to be able to access my existing content.

Not 100% sure on psn but it's fine on Xbox live. You can even buy stuff still in the uk account.
Only weird thing was the discriptions of some achevinents would be localised. I was in Korea and the only issue I had was some games just didn't have local players so matchmaking was sucky. But Xbox wasn't super popular in Korea to say the least. You mainly played with serving us people and there families.

I would imagine you will be ok

Everything on the consoles will work fine, but you may need a proxy if the PS Plus games are not the same in every region for that month and you want to acquire them via a PC.

Opened up a PS account in the UK and bought a few digital games with it.

Took PS4 to India. Plugged it in and it worked find without any VPN shenanigans.

I am a plus member, and all store prices are still marked up in sterling.

Yeah, I think your PSN library is tied to whatever country your account was created for. So you can go globetrotting with it and have full access to everything. Problem comes if you want to permanently change so you can use a new currency or something. Only Xbox supports that.

Ah, well that turned out better than I expected. Nice one, folks!

Basically, you can't change a PSN account's country at all, which is a pain in the butt. I went through this when I moved back from HK. I ended ditching my old PSN account and starting a new one. I registered a UK account and just use that. There's no region blocking so you don't need to mess about with VPNs.

Only minor pain is that the apps available are limited to the PSN account region....so I have iPlayer etc but they won't work. Netflix and amazon are fine though they auto-detect the country you're in.

I just buy PSN credit from the UK rainforest when I want to buy games. Nice little discount with the pound being poop at the mo too.
