My dog just bit me on the wrist

As i said its definitely just me. The worst of it is a new hoover? What about going out for a walk every day knowing you're going to have to handle a fresh steaming pile of ****, and then what if its watery ****?

Too many negatives and zero positives.
Zero positives? You're talking nonsense, though you've answered the question, you've clearly got no experience.

Your 3/4 figure has been pulled out of your bumhole.

For what it's worth, I don't like dogs either, but I'm not about to call dog owners mental and I'm certainly not about to claim trashy reality TV as proof of anything.

Good grief. 3/4 wasnt even absolute. I said more like 3/4, now, because increased media and pressures. Lol. Its well known that the massive and dramatic rise and reliance on social media is messing with childrens psyches.

Trashy reality as proof of anything? Dogs lay turds and dont wipe their arse. They dont wipe their arse because they dont have hands not because i saw it on a tv showl lmao :D

The council will be able to sort him out. Especially if he is burning things he shouldn't be. That carries a pretty big fine.

Pretty much the only thing your allowed to burn is dead vegetation and only in the countryside. In towns and suburbs it's illegal no matter what.

Wow the police will be busy in November then

Think of the health benefits of going for a walk every day.

In regards to the poo.

Good job for you, your parents didn't think the same about wiping your backside.

I walk every single day. Last week i went for a 10 mile walk lol. Can dogs walk for 10 miles? I dont know maybe.

I am my parents offspring. A dog isnt my child lol. Do you go around wiping random animal arse?

Why do i need google to tell me what positives a smelly dog will bring me. This is about me remember.
They bring you a pot of gold but unfortunately for your example that only happens if they magically appear under the dining room table, not behind a chair. So I guess you'd be **** out of luck, nevermind.

So were still at zero positives.

Serendipitously, this week's episode of More or Less from the BBC is about whether the 1/4 of people having mental health problems is accurate. I assume I'll hear you as one of the contributors, asim, arguing that the real figure is much higher?

It's more like 90% if my experiences are anything to go by.

I think dogs are great, having owned a particularly confused one, i now understand their reactions a bit better.
If the dog doesn't want to go, it needs patience.
Mind you our dog never wanted to go out in the car, but never nipped us, she did lie flat on the floor and make herself as difficult to pick up as possible.
They have to know it's not good to bite though. Maybe just a stern word.

I seem to remember (kinda off topic) that dogs are one of the only animals that can keep up with humans over long distance. But we can kick it up a notch that even they will start lagging behind.

Do I remember that a human beats a horse in a marathon too? A human can do something like 40Km a day but a horse can only do 20Km?

I'd say a pretty fair bet that anything other than a toy dog can outwalk you. ;)

Humans actually can outrun a dog on VERY short distances because it takes a four-legged animal longer to get into a run due to getting four legs moving in the right pattern than a human which basically just has to fall forward and put its leg out and it's running. That's why when you're out with a dog and you suddenly start running you'll find yourself ahead of it briefly and then see it gaining on you rapidly.

For distance, it depends on the dog breed (obviously lets drop hyper-bred toy dogs like pugs from the discussion) but most are capable of medium distance running at least (5+ miles). Remember you have to compare like for like. It's all very well Googling up the world record for marathon running and then seeing what Joe Dog the family labrador can do but dogs are animals too and just like humans, you can't expect the family dog to suddenly run 26 miles if you keep it lying around the house all day. But the moment you get to a breed of dog bred for distance, even the best of humans are out of luck. Dalmations are also called Carriage Dogs. They were bred for running alongside a carriage for long distances and that black and white pattern is the result of their hyper-active thyroid. Huskies, Samoi, Malamutes, pointers of various kinds (like the below). All will accompany you on runs almost as long as you like. Especially if they've been brought up as a running companion and have been trained for it (just like humans need to do).

And on short distances in terms of pure speed, most medium dogs will be able to catch you and several will do so quite easily. Good luck outrunning a doberman.

Aye I was talking about the realms of possibility.

When generalising what humans and dogs and horses can do I am talking about ones that can actually do so!

Obviously not all humans or dogs or horses can go long distance at all.. Part of what I'm talking about is linking in with the evolving side by side for a while, on the move etc.

No problem. :) Nothing wrong with what you wrote, I just found it interesting enough to expand upon.
