Hello everyone I have a steel series mouse the Rivel 100 that I've had for 14 months now, one of the buttons have become spongie could I get it fixed under warranty or is it time for a new one

Regular wear and tear isn't included in the warranty which is what that would fall under even though there would be a little under a year left on the warranty.

^ Ignore that tripe. Contact them and see what they say. I'd wager you'll get it replaced.

If it's anything like Razer support you won't, my laser started to die and they wouldn't replace it! I only buy Razer products second hand now as the warranty is garbage, I'd like OP to get back to us and see what Steelseries have to say.

I will give it a go, if not what's best around the same price

Not around the same price as it's about £40-£50 but I'd probably consider the Logitech G502.

Tripe you say

Your warranty will only cover manufacturing defects. It does not cover regular wear and tear, including but not limited to, breakage due to abuse, cosmetic damage, dents and chips, improper usage, water damage, or other causes attributable to events outside the manufacturing process.

Had a reply from them this morning asking for proof of purchase and it will be looked into, so I might as well just buy a new mouse

The rubber grip where your thumb rests on mine wore away and they replaced it under warranty. Had to ship it to Denmark though as no UK RMA centre.

Currently have Rival 100's for under £20 (white) if you end up replacing it :) If you wanna go for something different I use a deathadder at work and a rival 700 at home. I claw grip my mice and i find the 700 slightly too thin and will try a 500 next. About to get one out of the packaging for a few shots in our photo room so I'm hoping I'll like it a little more than the 700. Cougar X1 and X3 are also good value/performance choices.
