Am I seeing a GPU bottleneck - Draw times included...

This is a screenshot from in game while I was getting a very low FPS. I'd usually get 80fps on the same game before a recent update, but said update included lots of shiny new graphics details so either the update is badly optimized or my GPU just can't handle the new shiny details. So can we tell if this is a GPU bottleneck or poor optimization on the games part? PC spec below for reference.

Its a UE4 game BTW

I've just seen this, from here: https://www.unrealengine.com/blog/how-to-improve-game-thread-cpu-performance

If Frame time is very close to the Game time, you are bottlenecked by the game thread.
If Frame time is very close to Draw time, you are bottlenecked by the rendering thread.
If neither time is close while GPU time is close, then you are bottlenecked by the video card.

So does this mean I'm bottlenecked by the 'rendering thread'? If so, what is that, game optimization or something my end?

I'm no expert but it looks like a mixture of optimization and throughput (IPC / CPU clock speed). What's your system spec?

Edit: Ok, saw it in OP. You have a strong system, so maybe it's game related? That was the last thing that changed...

Yeah I see what you're saying, just want to be sure there is nothing wrong my end or anything I can do to help.

My system is very new so just want to make sure it's actually running OK. it scores 16000 on Firestrike demo which I'm guessing is OK considering the somewhat 'old' 980ti?

Yep 16000 is ok for that card, so probably nothing wrong at your end. Perhaps you could see if there is a forum for that game and ask if anyone else is seeing the same thing?

Yeah I'm already on the forum, it's a rea mixed bag though, some people have issues with lasted game update and some do not so it's impossible to narrow it down.

Nobody answered the question and it went off topic on to the topic of overclocking. No one has yet been able to explain the draw times to me and what they mean, what EXACTLY is bottlenecking me.

Nothing is bottlenecking you.

The drawtime figure is simply the fps divided into a second = ms

How do you know for sure? Could the games graphics and my resolution just simply be too much for a 980ti?

It is a limitation of your 980 Ti.

You would need a pair of 1080 Ti's to run nearly all games with max settings at the resolution you are using.

Wait for Version 10 the new animation system will be fully replaced in this version. Freeing up CPU time therefor increasing GPU performance.

Squad is a mixed bag right now it depends on the map, the player count, the location etc
Someone might be getting 80+ fps at one point on the map while you getting 40+ fps on another part it really depending what is happening. And right now the performance is down to the player count and the CPU related to the current animation system.

I know what you're saying but my last PC was doing just fine with Squad. 4790k at 4.8GHz and the very same GPU I have now. Essentially I've added a stronger CPU and got a performance decrease. Also the instance I mentioned where I was getting 30fps and the guy next to me was getting 100+fps, we were actually stood next to each other in game.
