oSeen that video last night. Was mental how quickly they took him out but also how casual everything was until they went in with the swords (then it became a blur..).

Got the Crota challenge done last night after a couple of sighting runs. We basically used the WoL bubble strat with the addition of an additional BoL bubble to draw the Boomer fire away from everyone else (plus give the sword bearer a little health buff).

We then did a run from the start but couldn't quite get the DS challenge done in the timeframe (got close 2-3 times). We were lacking the DPS which was causing us to drop a few seconds here and there. A couple more Raze Lighters or Dark Drinkers and we would have done it. :)

Got myself both versions of WoC which I was super chuffed with. :D Mrs got both the normal and Adept Fang.

Overall an awesome night and can't wait to take on Atheon!
 
Holy balls I have just read what the Atheon challenge comprises...

Everyone has to shoot and kill and Oracle each teleport phase. This means the three on the outside have to venture in and kill an Oracle (with one person always on the outside holding the gate open). Strategy so far is to have the Relic holder take #3 whilst the other two take #1 and #2. Relic holder then moves to gate to cleanse whilst the first two run out and the outside three run in to kill their designated Oracles (you will have to call on the fly). At the same time as the Oracles die the Relic holder goes out, cleanses and heads to middle. (it may be easir for them to just go middle depending on the "blindness" state of those on the outside). Rinse / repeat 2/3 times. Critical issue will be the callouts on Oracles - made worse by the random nature of the teleport.

That is going to be interesting!
 
Story playlist is Mars and Venus with solar burn, so the vex and cabal are gonna sting a bit.

Got Templar done.. eventually.

Method was as follows:
  • 2 Warlocks throw flare grenades at Templar from Gorgon Maze doorway to move him backwards slightly.
  • One guardian uses sword to suppress adds on left hand side (from Maze door)
  • 2 guardians extra on left hand side, 1 to stand in teleport ring and 1 to DPS.
  • Bubble popped over teleport ring.
  • On the right side (from Gorgon Maze door) the relic holder sits where we were trying at the very far edge of the teleport ring, they are safe from Templar and use L1 shield to protect from adds.
Then simply play it out.. it gets hectic and crazy towards the end with like 6 minotaurs and nearly 20 harpies lol

I got an Exotic Adept Vision of Confluence and a Legendary Hezens Vegance.. along with a few engrams I think.

I'll post a vid tomorrow if I can.

It's good that one guy can sit behind the rock on the right but when we were doing it the guy holding the relic was getting overwhelmed by the Templar. His shield, although up and being used fully, was running out resulting in death. Wonder why theirs in the video wasn't? It might be just the fact that the adds were being handled so less hits from them? Or maybe due to the relic holder standing down from the platform in between teleport circles? Damage wasn't our issue, staying alive while standing on the platform was really.

We'll have to experiment next time. I'm up for running any other night this week, nothing on at the moment.

EDIT: Just seen your post parsnip^^ gives me hope hehe. Gratz on the VOC, not jealous much. ;)

EDIT 2: How easy does this guy do it lol. It seems adds are a must and everything else just flows (aside from glitches). With a titan hiding behind the rock it'd be even easier. The only thing the guy with the relic needs to remember is not to stay on the platform when there is no circle I suppose. Everyone else protects the two (or one) dealing with said teleport circles.

Sorry if I sounded off (and was playing crap) last night. Today will not be a good day. 10:30am vets appointment where we have to no doubt make a decision. Poor little guy can't stand up and, well, let's just say things are messy. :(

Breaks my heart to see him like it.

I won't be on tonight but may be on tomorrow depending how things go.

Feel for ya, had to take my little guy to the vet on a one-way trip a couple of weeks ago, sucks. Had some bone disease that was slowly crippling him, couldn't hop about at all by the end :/

Will try and get on a raid in the next few weeks, been mega busy recently. Be good to run through VoG again!
 
Been itching to get back to this but can't. I have two broken fingers, Corey has a broken thumb and Moe has been under the weather too. Hopefully be able to get some runs with a few of you when we're all healthy again >_< Also sorry to hear about the pet troubles guys, I'm going through similar stuff with my westie at the moment. She's been with me and my wife since the beginning =(

Had the little guy for coming up 8 and a half years. He is one of the family and is more like a silent dog than a rabbit.

lol I haven't forgotten how dangerous you are with the relic, I'm sure we'll all get a few runs again sometime soon. Wishing you well at the vets man.

Thinking of you dude, I'm sorry you have to make this decision in the first place :(

Im tired also, I'm starting to get used to these 1am finishes tho lol

I'll pop my vid up later today, in all honesty I don't do much but hide, run to the teleport circle and pop up every now and again to DPS the boss.. plus my aim is not great.. but it's good for you guys to see and hear what's going on :)
