First full review of AMD Ryzen 5 1600 is here

Looks not far off the 1700x whilst saving again if your happy to have less cores, but if they haven't tested the 1700x with the latest bios they need to redo the testing.

Yet another site benchmarking the Ryzen with 2400mhz memory against i5/i7 with 3600mhz ram. Why would they clock the trident Z ram down to 2400 rather than 3200? The trident Z will work at 3200 all day long. They're also testing overclocked Intel chips Vs non overclocked AMD chips. Don't these sites know how to do like-for-like testing??

I agree, that review was very poor to say the least. Like most we have seen, only a few have managed to get it right.

Why are the even comparing it to a Core i7 - retail pricing is between a Core i5 7600 and a Core i5 7600K. In some of those games,a 6C/12T Ryzen would be giving a 4C/4T Core i5 a good beating. It almost is like the Core i5 has suddenly dissapeared!! :p

The Ryzen 5 is really set against the non-K versions of the Intel i5, so to use an overclocked i7 is just a total waste of everyone's time.

Its brilliant, literally months ago it was i5 is king in gaming. Now its all about the 7700K :)
The 6800K and other HEDT CPU's from intel also seem to have disappeared lol

This is amazing, using a Ryzen 5 not properly overclocked against an overclocked ram + cpu i7. You couldn't make up this level of incompetence :D

True.
One benchmark showed a 6800K against a Ryzen CPU today, and lets say got trashed. To put it mildly. (Looking at my 6800K, it's days are numbered even if is only 3wks old but no X370 boards in stock back then to replace my damaged 1700X.....)

5960X/6900K/6950X which are the direct competitors of the Ryzen 1700/1700X/1800X are gone, nowhere to be found.
Everyone is trying to pit it against overclocked Kabylakes, while keeping the Ram at lower speeds.

And still the benchmark above shows that it does pretty well on gaming against the more expensive 6700K, even if the Ryzen is crippled.

Making the whole argument "ugh get a quad core is king still dude ugh" a completely stupid advice.

Notice how close the benches are because they are using a 1070 instead of a 1080 or higher. The 7700k no longer out paces things anymore with a lesser card. I also saw this in other reviews, that unless you have a better card the difference is soooo minimal regardless.

So they have stated in the review about the RAM not being able to achieve more than 2400Mhz. I am sure the MSI board has no problem. Certainly the XPower upon release was able to do 3200Mhz out the box.

I believe from that review that the max ram speeds attainable were 2400mhz.

It is what it is. It's hardly different from the reviews of its bigger brothers. It does however make finding Ryzen benchmarks easy. You just look toward the bottom of the page.

I'll be surprised if other reviews have it as a glowing success. Too many problems with it. But it does feed the tin hat brigade on here who are able to see into the future with all the excuses and predictions.

Did someone upset you today?

You what? There aren't any major problems. They are things being actively sorted. Nothing to do with a tin foil hat, stop trolling.
