So my current lease is coming to an end in June 2017.
In Jan 2017 we enquired about leasing a Skoda Kodiaq (we require a 7 seater SUV) and was hoping to pay a maximum of £350 a month for the top spec however at the time the best price they could offer was £375 (3+23, 10k PA).
The dealer (whom previously got us a cracking deal on our current lease) advised us to wait until April 2017 where prices could drop - a risk we took.

Now in April for the same car/spec the prices have actually increased...Now it will cost us over £500 per month!!!
I know there has been changes recently with the VED increase, which hasn't helped our cause as well.

Would it be advisable to see if things settle over the next 2 months and possibly reduce or take the plunge on a lower spec while upping our budget to £400 a month?

Sounds like there has been a list price increase/RV reduction on Kodiaq pushing the monthly cost up.

For reference a lot of manufacturers have announced price increases/RV reductions in the last couple of months.

I'm gonna say you are out of luck I'm afraid.

Do you think the prices may decrease in the next few months or things will likely remain the same?

Not saying it don't happen but most manufacturers don't amend RV values in quick succession.

Is it a maintained lease you are looking at? Sometimes you see big increases due to someone in the numbers department getting the figures wrong.

Have you looked at different lease terms since the increase?

I do not require maintenance to be included and I have looked at 2-3 years lease with 3+23, 6+23 and 9+23 with no real joy

All of the good deals on the Kodiaq are for 3 years at the moment, theres plenty about but there's hardly any good value 24 month leases.

A very quick look:
Pulman Soda
Kodiaq 2.0 TDI 190 Edition 4x4 DSG 7seat (very top of the range with the most powerful diesel and DSG)
£386.40 on a 3 + 35 for 8k p.a

or a 2.0 TDI SE L 4x4 7 seat
£350.40 on 3+35

look on whatcar leasing, nearly all skoda dealers so there's no fees on top of these and your finance will be with VWFS, so your excess mileage will be at 10.8p per mile. An extra 6k over the term will costan extra £18 a month.
However if you wait until half way through the lease and ring up for a mileage increase you will usually be offered at 50% discount.

At the moment all of VW's funding is going into golf's and scirocco's, it would seem that VW are pushing silly priced leases for petrol powered hatches and saloons rather than 4x4's

I don't think the VED will affect the Kodiaq at all. It's not a £40k motor. If anything, it might be slightly cheaper under the new rules.
