PC unable to boot.

Sorry if this is in the wrong section, Not really got the ability to see the forums correctly.

Problem
Using the PC like normal just on desktop (few back ground applications, watching twitch stream, talking on discord) PC suddenly turns off. When I try turn it on, Mother boards lights up, Fans spin for about a second and then its like its in its shutdown state. (Same thing repeats if i press the button again).

Solutions Attempted so far
Removed all but 1 Ram (Same effect)
Removed all Ram (Same effect)
Removed Graphics Card (Same Effect)
Removed PCI-E SSD (Intel 750) (Same Effect)
Removed PCI-E NVMe SSD (Samsung 950) (Same Effect)
Made certain all wires are secured.
Tried OLD PSU, failed
Tired current PSU in old PC, worked successfully.
Removed CMOS batter for 10 minutes and tried again, No change.

Not sure what's next to try.

Try tapping your aio pump. Are you getting circulation if you can tell?

It sounds like it is is working.

I removed CPU and it appears to remain on, will try put CPU back in.

Plugged CPU back in and effect returns still cannot boot. is this a mother board or a cpu issue.

How can i identify which is the culprit

Not really the best at fault finding, sorry to say. The only other thing I've experienced with failed boot is a faulty usb device plugged in, try unplugging all non essential usb, unlikely but worth a try before thinking worst case scenario.

Was first thing I did,

It's less than a year old, but I am going to assume that there is no Warranty with OEM?

Think OEM might be a year dependent on who you got it from. Would have to check with them.

Nope unfortunately..

Currently I am considering the possibility of driving to OC in Newcastle (250 Miles), see if I can get someone of them to double check its the CPU and if so RMA it there and then buy cheaper CPU for the wait... but I don't know if that's a possibility.

Nothing worse than fault finding, spent many an hour in frustration and sympathise, anyways fingers crossed here especially if it's cpu as oem could be a grey area.

my only hope is if someone who works at OCUK posts about on here saying if it is possible to drive up to meet someone or that there isn't a possibility. ideally i'd like to know before too long because I'd want to leave at about 4 am to beat traffic.

or at the very least tell me where I stand on the OEM CPU Warranty situation.

Have you tried the customer service forum? Might get lucky and get a response.

Tried OLD PSU, failed
Tired current PSU in old PC, worked successfully.
Removed CMOS batter for 10 minutes and tried again, No change.

So 2 options remain, Motherboard or CPU.

The PC stays ON if I turn the system on without the CPU. This would indicate almost certainly that the CPU is the cause or could it still be the Motherboard.

I've driven over to them a few times and they've been nothing but helpful. There's a bit of a showroom with some kit and a counter where they've taken my build apart a few times to resolve niggling issues I started out with. Maybe give them a bell so you don't arrive when they're on lunch or taking a big delivery or something, otherwise I'm sure they'd be happy to help you out.

I would say it is the motherboard. CPU's don't fail often.

Can't you RMA the board? Motherboard's usually have three year warranties.

Yep, CPUs don't tend to fail. Motherboards on the other hand, yes, much more common.

Ok,

So it's either the motherboard or CPU, but the likely hood is MotherBoard... unfortunately its my work PC so I can't exactly wait for an RMA...

I feel my best bet would be to buy a new motherboard for Saturday delivery, if it still doesn't work, I know its the CPU and will act accordingly (RMA CPU, return Motherboard{?)), if it works then I can simply RMA the motherboard and when returned use as a spare part.

Just read the comment section of my mother board:

This is a really great motherboard for the price and has all the functionality most would ever need..

Unfortunately I suffered from what seems to be quite a rare yet recurring theme across the globe with this board refusing to post after about a month and taking the CPU down with it...(Error Code 00)

Overclockers were absolutely fantastic with the service and support I received and I cannot praise the guys I dealt with enough, superb service!

After a great deal of research It turns out that ASUS have found an issue that *might* in rare cases cause a problem and immediately released a bios update for this board, read more on this in link below.

Unfortunately It was too late for me and both the Motherboard and CPU had to be RMA

The numbers on the output are 00, does this mean the motherboard could have killed the CPU as well?

Tested new motherboard, still no POST (00 Code and instant shutdown).

My original assumption that it was CPU was correct. could still be both?

Nothing I can do now until monday....
