Terrible experience buying from The Supercar Rooms Hartlebury

Probably a bit far from you but I can recommend a guy local to me (Market Drayton) who is absolutely fantastic. He isn't cheap, but that's a good thing where body work is concerned. He is a perfectionist.

Please, ive got some quite ranging places to speak to.

This is why he is not telling you he did it as I suspect it was 'Dave the Spray'

www.shorade.co.uk are my go to bodyshop in Cannock.

Tell them after his admittance that they did a bad job you will get it rectified and expect him to cover the cost as you have lost confidence in his company based on his response.

Thanks for the recommendation, just got back from Shorade, very impressed with the service received to far. Guy seemed extremely knowledgeable and explained what has gone wrong on a technical level and how it needed to be fixed etc. Hes emailing me through a quote by the end of the day.

Was it Kevin?

I need to speak with him, couple of issues with mine since they worked on it (not paint, plastic bits from Audi not fitting as I want) so need to pop in but won't be for a couple of weeks as I head to Barcelona tomorrow for the week then car gets a 3 days wheels off detail next week to finally remove the deadly swirls. Good bunch in my experience, get a look around if you have not done so already, impressive set up.

Ken was the guy who dealt with me. Got the quote through, actually a lot better than expected.

Hes ringing me back tomorrow, where im going to rather bluntly put it to him do they plan to pay for it to be rectified or not.

Didnt ring me back at all despite assurances he was going to.

Letter went out today, after having my solicitor mate check it over.

Can't wait to hear about the reaction to tactical nuclear kindai.

How anti-climatic.

Found out why they didn't give a ****, they just went into voluntary liquidation. I've been added as a creditor if the liquidator can find any reason to recover any of the sold off assets.

Rang up the finance company, told them of the issues and got told to expect an investigation for a couple of weeks followed by an offer and a cheque in the post.

Not untypical of the motor trade. More bent people in the industry than straight.

Quite, though lessons have been "learned". Eg the £100 quid credit card trick only works upto £30k, for things between 30k and 62k you need a purchase specific loan to meet the same protection requirements, never knew that, do now, fortunately I had car specific finance on part of it so had my ass covered there (eg, a personal loan taken to buy the car wouldnt of been covered).

Just gonna chill now until the cheque comes in then get it upto shorade to sort.

I need to start doing the same. Only ever paid cash before so have no protection.

We're they a large dealership?

Jesus. How'd they screw that up?

Or is the cynical part of me right when I bet the owner has liquidated and run?

The owner sold all the assets to his son from what I've been told. Not sure why or how they got into a situation where that was required, but they did. The only thing I can think really is they have had trouble shifting stock and the money from servicing and maintenance hasn't covered the salaries, rent, rates etc..., there's been some cars in there for a couple of years.

*edit* well looks like they did it after being sued by someone else.

I dunno, if you read that thread it seems like they've liquidated purposely to prevent an unreasonable customer from gaining £87,000 plus costs from what seems to be a clerical error.

I know that doesn't solve the OP's problem but it does suggest why they arent wanting to cooperate as much as they should.

There has to be more to this story than is obvious. Hope you get a good outcome.
