Car for GF £12000

I love how being a Ford owner must make you instantly immature council estate scum compared to the sincerity of an established BMW owning middle class Gentleman. Nice that.

None the less Danny sounds like he needs a badge snob car for his lady. So best to stick to Audi or BMW :)

I think he's referring to post 57.

I love a nice Ford but the Focus ST and 335d are rather different cars and shouldn't really be compared.

Not sure the Focus ST is really 'fairly new driver' material as Jez suggested, though. In a world where insurance prices didn't exist maybe :p

I'd have a Leon FR with the Tech Pack every day of the week with this budget and 3 door requirement.

Smart looking motors with some nice modern tech. (LED lighting etc)

Sod the badge when for the same/less money you are driving a car with superior spec to something with merely an Audi badge on the front of it.

I sort of take the point but clearly the difference is a little more than just the badge.

**** what sort of pond scum does my second hand vauxhall corsa make me?:D

She drove an Audi A1 the other week - didn't like it at all
Even the Audi dealer said the TT in her budget is an old car
Went and drove a 118i and liked it.

But just to throw a spanner in the works I've suggested a Focus ST, as they are well within budget, with more toys then a 1 series

She basically wants a modern, nippy car with plenty of toys - The 1 series didn't have many toys at her price point (mainly because it has to be 2013 or newer and lower then 50,000 miles, and an M-Sport)

*cough* Leon FR with Technology Pack :D

Lol she has that now, my old lease car until 2 weeks time when it goes back its a 2.0 tdi

I don't want her having a diesel as she sits in traffic an hour each way 5 days a week, it would reek havoc on the dpf/egr etc

*The petrol leons seem like good value too

focus st + remap + lowering springs would mean I can have a second fun car and track car as I intend to get into track days. Plus its really nice to rag a quick manual petrol after doing 300 miles a week in a diesel auto

OP valuable life lesson to be learned here, whatever she wants let her get it. either you argue against and your wrong or you agree and your wrong.

just let her get what she wants because it will be your fault anyway

My Mrs not like that mate. Look at the Audi situation I easily talked her into BMW, infact the Audi dealer pretty much did it for me!!

She knows how many cars I have had and trusts my opinion

Get her to test drive a focus ST and a Fiesta ST ...

The 2015 and newer face lift mk3.5 focus ST are much a fair bit nicer then the mk3 focus ST
