A story which did not end in disaster.

Drove himself and his sister to McDonalds successfully after watching some youtube. Parents were asleep and obviously left the keys in an easy to reach place.

I am going to take a guess and say it was likely an automatic. Surely now that he has done it once successfully, the temptation to do it again is much greater!

Quite a good chance it was auto being the US - I've got a setup here for playing racing games (wheel, peddles, etc.) my 7 year old nephew is quite capable of driving i.e. free roam in TDU2, etc. without hitting anything/mostly following basic road rules aside from when he gets impatient/frustrated.

My lad did the legoland karts when he was six. Shocking how well he handled the traffic lights and roundabouts.

Can just imagine an eight year old driving down to mcdonalds lol - having his little sister with him makes it even funnier.

/Not funny though!

both parents were asleep. so unless they were junkies that means it was very late @ night. less traffic on the roads, etc. he could have went that full journey with only 2-3 other cars on the same roads. i'm guessing it's obviously an automatic. so the only hard part would be steering and braking.

Staff at the restaurant thought they were the victims of a prank when the underage pair stopped at the drive-through window, the paper added.
I assume that's their excuse for just mindlessly serving them and not calling the cops, or something?

As mad and as scared I'd be if it was my kid... A hint of pride would definitely hit me :p Eyewitnesses say he kept to the speed limit and rules of the road!
