Just on a whim (Hadn't done it for years) I have just listened to some short wave radio.

And there it is, pecking away.

Are the Russians still using Woodpecker or is it likely to be more local interference?

It was decommissioned in the 80s.

What we knew as the Woodpecker has been gone for a long time, you could be getting local QRM (quite likely from a plasma TV) or possibly some OTHR.

It's completely derelict now.

Getting access to that array when it was still live and being able to slap some RF up it was such a dream.

The buzzer is still there, 4,625 kHz. I was listening to it just a few days ago.
