I've been trying to get a hold of a 128gb 6S for a few days now... everyone wants me to pay via Bank Transfer and it's so annoying!

A lot of the time the cretins will make up stories about how they got scammed BUYING through PayPal and how they never got their refunds (not even the cash back problems you normally get).

So do you guys do it? Pay for goods second hand (around 3-400£) via BT? I'm really pressed to do just pay through BT as I can't convince any seller that PayPal is safe as can be...

no chance paying with a bank transfer once its gone out your account there's NO getting it back.

If you pay by bank transfer then you have NO buyers protection. Its essentially like paying cash in hand. So if something goes wrong, your totally reliant on the cooperation of the seller.

No way would I ever pay for something that way, unless it was someone I knew personally and trusted completely.

Yup, bank transfer for friends and family only, some random off the Internet, for what must be a fault substantial sum, no chance..

I sold an old '60s picnic set on Gumtree and the buyer paid by BT. I'd not requested it, was her suggestion as she wanted the item and was too far away.

I would be dubious about paying BT on Gumtree myself, and certainly wouldn't for high value items. Especially phones, where scamming is extremely commonplace

AVforums/WatchUSeek and MM are the only places I'd accept PayPal friend/gift payment really. But I'd have to do some research into the buyer first, can't trust people these days :p
