So a question for the insurance gurus please.

I am upgrading my M3 to a newer one and have been told by a sky insurance (who I have been with for ages and are very good) that I need a tracker on the new car. I have one on my current car.

They say I have two weeks to get it fitted but until I they have proof that it has been fitted the car isn't covered for theft on a comprehensive policy?

Is this normal practice? Seems a little strange to me and I am sure that wasn't the case when I got my e92 originally before it had a tracker.

Mine has to have a tracker on it. It had a Vodatrack device on it already, so I just called them up and they tested it remotely and turned it on. £220 a year for the service, 2 key fobs which can be a bit annoying as they have a habit of turning themselves off when in a wallet so you get a call and text telling you it's be stolen.

Well the premium with a tracker through Sky insurance was £445/yr and without the cheapest was DirectLine for £1300

So its been booked in for a tracker :(
