If that's the main cause, then where are all the East Asian terrorists going on killing sprees in the West? Because I don't remember those, and neither were they spared from Western intervention.

we get this same apologist narrative in every thread

where are all the Argentinian or perhaps Hispanic/Catholic terror attacks after the Falklands? West African attacks after Sierra Leone? Serbian or orthodox Christian attacks after Bosnia and Kosovo?

you don't even know what nationality the attacker is - he could easily be French, he could easily be from an Islamic country that hasn't had any recent French military intervention - France didn't get involved in Iraq, you've basically got Mali, Libya and Afghanistan - it is quite possible he's not from those three countries

it baffles me when Trump feels the need to comment....more americans must shoot each other every day than islamic extremists kill europeans
yet he thinks thats a bigger problem to concentrate on

I asked an American friend about this a few weeks ago and his answer was most American murders are viewed as basically linked to simple criminality, and are not ideologically driven. His (American) pal made some comment about not being as bad being bitten by your own dog, which was kind of different! :)

yet they're not from those countries - those are two black guys of Nigerian descent who converted to Islam - the only link there is their shared ideology with people from those countries

it is aspects of that ideology that are the problem
 
I think the bigger problem for trump would be alienating some of his supporters in the process of doing good, rather than choosing a foreign target to rally his support behind.

surely a dead person is still a dead person

in that school shooting last week where the person killed their partner..a student was killed, does it really make any difference if he was killed by a terrorist or a jilted lover with easy access to guns?

recent updates about the attacker are potentially going to be pounced on politically:

he was already jailed for 20 years in 2005 for attempting to kill two police officers* - didn't serve full sentence

he was arrested in February this year after threatening police

he boasted on the Telegram messaging service that he was going to kill police


*(this doesn't appear to have been a terror attack though)

He was also arrested in February as part of a counter-terror investigation - reportedly for threatening police officers - but was released by the courts because of insufficient evidence the following day.
