Madeleine McCann investigation 'cost £10 million to date'

This question has probably already been asked. So sorry in advance.

Say Maddy is found with the family or individual who kidnapped her. Alive, healthy and happy.... Completely unaware of the fact that she was kidnapped.

What would happen then?

The solicitor must have asked her "did you do it" and her reply must have been something dreadful which is why a solicitor would recommend the client keeps their mouth shut.

I think I am right in saying a solicitor CANNOT lie in court, they are likely NOT to ask directly if you are guilty or not ..

They left their children in a locked hotel room within walking distance while they shared a meal with friends (they did not 'go out on the ****'). They checked on the kids every half hour.

At the very most, they are guilty of negligence. They are not guilty of murder.

Your language is amazing you try to attempt to make their actions sound completely acceptable. "shared a meal with friends" and then "They checked on the kids every half hour."

It was MULTIPLE rounds at some cheap Tapas bar!? How on earth do you class multiple rounds as "a meal"?

Your idea is singular but the reality of the situation is plural, therefore your logic falls apart at the most basic level.

they did not 'go out on the ****'
If there was alcohol there they were 100% ****ing up. How can you deny that?

within walking distance
What this has to do with anything is beyond me. Who are you? David Blaine? Potential hazards and threats aren't magically mitigated by being "in walking distance". This is actually evidenced by reality because if you hadn't realised Maddie is missing! You are in so much denial it's unbelievable.

I really think you are trying to be a comedian in this thread, and it's not just me who's picked up on your satire.

They left their children in a locked hotel room

**** me, in absolute despair here. Now I hope you're just trying to be a comedian you just cannot be serious. :(

Evangelion, they left their children alone to go out on the ****, they are as guilty as sin.
Correct.

How come they never got charged for neglect? Surely leaving young kids alone to go on the lash is illegal in any civilised country, so how come this didnt happen? or did it as i never followed it fully at the start ten years ago.

e: Asim is right in the above post, leaving a kid to just nip a shop next door is a bad idea let alone to go drinking within walking distance, thats just wrong for me.

Drinking alcohol is not the same as being "on the lash". Were they "on the lash" or is this hyperbole?
Depends who you ask! I think the staff when interviewed said they were pretty hammered. They insisted they were barely tipsy. Truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

This is where things get a bit complicated - people talk at work about how "hammered" I got at the last work xmas party - for them I drank an inordinate amount of spirits - for me that was only moderate going and I was only mildly intoxicated in reality.

Agree. Very subjective area.

Admit it though, you were minced weren't you? :p

They left their children, a four year old and two year old twins, alone in a locked an unlocked hotel room within walking distance out of sight and sound, while they shared a meal with friends (they did not 'go out on the ****'). They checked on the kids every half hour, except for the last check half an hour before Maddie was discovered missing, where Russell O-Brien only listened at the door.

A couple of corrections that throw a slightly different light on the events as described by you.

Just read through 'The Truth of The Lie'

Poses some serious questions and doubt over the whole process and how it was handled if true. Looks like the McCanns were pretty well connected but the evidence that has not been made public is quite interesting.

If she is genuinely still alive then I think its safe to draw the line by now that she is either happy living where she is or has no memory now of her biological parents.

However, judging by what has been reported in the book, it seems a lot more sinister...

Only knew the very basic details before this thread. After reading some of the evidence and watching a few videos of the Mccann's and watching a few other videos of opinions on the case, it really makes it a strange case. Making out the Portuguese police are bumbling idiots at best, hence my last post asking why our Gov was so keen to protect them. Maybe they are trying to smoke them out. But I think this smells more of creating a media frenzy to put the spotlight on us, hopeing that it somehow puts us in good light and we gain from it. All very strange and manipulative.

Watch this video on body language. TED pretty reputable.
