When it comes to legalities people should be identified as what it says on their birth certificate, we've gone a long way towards the acceptance of transgenders in normal life but one can't just wish away biology because it hurts ones feelings to hear that they are not naturally male/female.

I'd say you have to have a few screws loose to be a pro fighter in the first place!

Has anyone seen the MTF New Zealand weightlifter? I think this one is a bit of a joke, she competed in Olympic weightlifting as a man then in her later 30s decided to become a woman. I hope it makes her happy in her life but she shouldn't be competing in competitive events. Crushed the opposition in NZ finals now she wants to go to the Olympics.

What about intersex. Or, even, administrative error on a birth cert?
Simple solution is that the female category is the protected one and the male one is the default one - anyone not completely female therefore doesn't get to go in the female category.
this is the only sensible thing to do - otherwise in the years to come 'women' will will nothing.

They are not statistically relevant and should not be part of the debate really.
If you're born XY with male characterstics, you're a man. If you're born XX with female characteristics, you're a woman. Anything else is a medical issue.
