Nothing has happened really.

He is just 96, thats all.

That Thames Diamond jubilee back in 2012 was too much for him really, He was quite ill for a while after that. I am amazed he has done so well for so long. I doubt if I will. :/

A shame and a blessing in a way. A blessing that they are all fine and a shame that we miss out on the usual GD royalist thread which contain 3 kinds of people:

1. Normal people, who don't care all that much
2. Frothing hardcore royalists who love to talk of the great British empire (despite knowing nothing of it)
3. Frothing hardcore Anti-Royalists who like to believe the royals are just lazy slave drivers and dictators

do they have to be frothing? can't people just think one thing or another without being some rabid zealot? are you only normal if you've no opinion one way or another?

For example, i think the royal family is good because they are a benefit to the country. They are our ambassadors and they bring in far more money through tourism than they cost. I don't give a **** about the British empire. seems pretty reasonable to me *wipes froth from mouth*

If you are not frothing, you dont care all that much. You can still hold an opinion either way and care, just that it doesn't matter all that much. You can hold a normal opinion without being neutral (even in GD!)

Anyone find themselves more sympathetic to Prince Phillip after watching The Crown on Netflix? Poor chap wasn't even allowed to learn to fly until Her Majesty intervened - even then he had to get permission from Cabinet to do a loop (though one suspects he did quite a few and just didn't tell anyone).
