Best 5.25" drive out there in 2017

Just wanted to announce that I have found the best optical drive out there in 2017.

It's a spring-loaded drawer to store USB sticks and dongles in

It's made by Evercool. I think there are others, but the spring-loaded catch on this one has a good feel so I'd recommend it.

I've moved away from cases with 5.25" bays though since I had no use for them, and I like the whole SFF thing. Really good idea though.

a month old i know, but how is this working out for you?

since i saw this, i want one, but all the ones ive seen get reports of being proper cheap and nasty. i know its only a drawer, and there only about a tenner but i'd still want a nice one if there was such a thing...

The quality of the one I got is fine. Like I said it has a satisfying click thanks to the spring action.

The only dubious thing is that the installation screws screw into plastic and so transferring to a different case a few times might mush up the drawer's internal threads.

That's pretty cool! I have two bays, one has a DVDRW and I use my spare for a 5.25" HDD. I could always replace the DVDRW.

the idea isnt new as ive had cases with purposed designed storage on top of the case, but its a cool idea, i have a small flat box thats basically the same size as that one in your pic that houses my usb sticks and wifi adapters/ discs, so this would be very usual to have hooked to my computer.
