Le Vote, France start to elect a new president

So, how much money has everyone got in the pot? Bebe-Macron took all overseas territories, some of which backed Melenchon and sometimes Pen in the first round. Unlike with Trump, the polls were on target in the first round and there hasn't been a result that put Le Pen ahead for the run off reported. With a gap of 20 points and counting, especially after the shambolic debate the Queen of FN managed, your eldritch 4chan magic better be good!

Just put a tenner on Le Pen myself, worth a go, Macron seems to be popular with the city folk but the Rural lot seem to favour La Pen so it could go either way really depends on how annoyed the rural folk are about the current climate in France.

Good luck France,

I'm not saying Le Pen was their saviour or anything but that dude and his granny wife are going to be no better really. Kind of like a Clinton vs Trump situation.

Not sure how you can make the equivalence to Clinton vs Trump and then alluding to Trump being the better result

Not sure why people in this thread just put a bet on Le Pen? :p

The polls showed it was incredibly unlikely she would win. I mean betting on Brexit and Trump I can understand as the polling was within the margin of error but this - no chance.

Well I'll probably put a couple of quid on Corbyn too...

Channelling Trump with Le Pen's baggage during the debate is what had finally killed off her one and only chance to make a coherent case to a broader base of supporters. The Bahamas gimmick put the final nail in her coffin. And nobody will forget those crazy hand gestures! In the time of identity politics, she chose not to look presidential, and it blew up right in her face, especially with erstwhile Fillon supporters. 'Fine for opposition; not a president,' went the oft used refrain. Of course there is rural underinvestment in France and unemployment is higher in the NE, but the vote shares that brings, and not uniformly, isn't enough to put a president in the Élysée.

I'll take zombies over a horde of Tory Boys :p

Would you vote for Michael Howard? He's both!
