Utter Dross

I mean does anyone buy into this at all?

Its a dreadful record attacking the Trump administration

But it fails on so many levels.

Its ludicrous.

A political record should be memorable and in your face...This totally misses the mark and is so forgettable.

Just reading some reviews in the music press about this makes my blood boil

No Doubt Gorillaz will earn huge dollars from this release a seemingly absolute contradiction to the original message.

That was terrible, shame as someone said i used to love gorillaz but their heyday has long past and they're no longer realivent

Thought that was the best thing they ever did tbh (although the last 5 seconds were so bad it almost seems like an inside joke?!).

Every album they have done has sounded like a bunch of drab, pedestrian b-sides. They did two great singles, 19-2000 and Dare. With the rest the stylisation and the music videos were the best thing about them. Please let me forget the rest of it. Musically anyway..

Wow, just watched that performance on Graham Norton. We've lost Noel. He's gone forever. Absolutely lost the plot, as Liam so rightly put it. Utter, utter dross.

Saw that too, was watching with the wife and I laughed out loud during it.
Her - "What you laughing at?"
ME - "This is just ****".

This is the issue with "celebrities" being political. People will listen to them because they are famous, not because what they are saying is insightful, true or has any merit.

I went to a Russell Howard gig a few months back and it felt like half his show was political **** aimed at the retarded masses. Load of chest thumping statements that had 0 substance to them but people lapped it up. This seems to be the sad state of where culture is going I'm afraid.

Never seen any particular political agenda or attempt to make a statement with Russell Howard though - he has always taken the mick out of whoever is in power politically just because they are in politics.

I know exactly what you're talking about - I saw that tour and he made a comment about Nigel Farage promising £350 million to the NHS.... lots of whooping and laughter but I was just sat there thinking ".... errr he didn't say that."

Have to say I wasn't expecting it at all. I have watching good news occasionally for years and its never been like that. This was a live show on his last tour however.

It just made me think of this scene from Black Dynamite.

All very emotive but completely devoid of any substance.

Was going to say I've not kept up with him recently so might have changed.

Not a fan of new Gorillaz album. Sadly, not a fan of new Linkin Park album either. And even more sadly, not a fan of new Muse single. Basically, all my favourite bands from the 90s and 2000s are starting to fail at hitting the mark it seems.
